This is the hardest update to write at the moment, and I really hate making these decisions without reason. But unfortunately, there's no other way out of this. During the final level of testing in advance of Next Fest, a multitude of unplanned issues have been discovered that wi
After careful consideration, it has been decided that Advent Heroes will receive an updated demo to coincide with Steam Next Fest which will premiere on June 10. The goals for this demo go far beyond the concept preview established by the first version and will change the demo pa

This has been a very sobering experience for me, but I have now finalized all aspects of the Advent Heroes demo! The biggest change is that the demo had a very big oversight that was left over from before the compliance runtime was deleted from the package, which may have possibl
A quick demo update has been released for Advent Heroes to bring the game in line with the state of the design as it is currently set in the development builds. This affects the Bunnyback quest and moves the main visual aspect of the dungeon away from the default assets so that i
As promised in the previous update, the Advent Heroes demo has been updated! While there may still be a few rough edges, the updated demo has the following two changes: Frostpoint has been added as a scene selection. In this scene, our heroes have reached the point where two guar

For those of you who have following my development process, you'll know that I started with Advent Heroes, which I canceled in its original form back in mid-2023. In its place I have been developing Project Able Heroes off the foundation of that project, working on a story that h
Welcome back! Previously I was hard at work on a portfolio branding provision that I referred to as Zero Break Game Design, whereby I had previously worked on projects across a small number of game jams, consulted on a project for another developer and was also developing my own
It is with a heavy heart that I am sunsetting the development of Advent Heroes and ceasing the operations of Zero Break Game Design, effective immediately. As this is a permanent decision, materials related to Advent Heroes should be considered terminated and must be removed from
A small update this morning. 1.2.1 of the demo for Advent Heroes has been released and brings one noticeable change to Frostpoint. Specifically, rather than risk having a bug with the ledge design after making the previous set of changes I have given the area a complete overhaul
Following some additional modifications and testing version 1.2 of the Advent Heroes demo is up! This release contains the following changes and fixes: Frostpoint has been partially moved off the RTP. Although some elements of the default MV style remain, they're primarily becaus
After throwing some ideas around and determining that there are a few things that need to be accounted for, I have pushed out version 1.1 of the demo for Advent Heroes. This update makes a few changes to the game: It is no longer possible to use compatibility mode to bypass the a
After a lot of work on Advent Heroes I decided it was time to give the game a proper demo for people to check out, so it is done! Although technically I did previously have a demo, but it was completely out of date and didn't reflect the change in direction for the game that I pr
I am writing this with a heavy heart. As of today I have made the difficult decision to cancel development of Advent Heroes on macOS. The decision comes down to a number of reasons, but the main connecting point is the emphasis on M1 Macs over x64 as part of Apple's transition to
So it has been a few years since there was activity on this project, and let me say that it has been quite a trip. I am now refreshed and ready to throw my work at this thing again, and with several changes and refinements to my vision. So many, in fact, that I required a massive
First off, a quick editorial note. This entry completely replaces a prior report concerning project expansion, which has now been called off due to changes in the Apple Developer Agreement effective 14 October 2019 that preclude me from continuing with macOS support at this time
To date my biggest and most extreme twist is also my favorite of what is already written to this point, and it happens very early in her involvement. (Not counting the opening scene, but going into that would be an even bigger spoiler than what I'm going to describe for this upda
As you may have already heard, the European Rights Reform has largely been passed without modification. While there is no guarantee that its effect on game development will be in the favor of my project as it currently stands, I am unfortunately going to require immediate delay o
First off, a late shoutout coming off Valentines day. Second, for curators and other parties who have been afforded my initial key codes for testing and publicity I have published a bugfix regarding a mission to where progress is stalled because I forgot to change a few settings
