Good news everyone! The first phase of the Beta has been completed and I’m getting ready to launch the closed testing period. What remains is a few administrative/technical tasks, such as uploading the beta to Steam and Itch.io as well as generating keys. I’m planning on creating keys for both Steam and Itch.io for Windows and macOS, but can’t guarantee they will come out at the same time. I am currently aiming for the week of August 26th as the Beta launch date.
What can you expect from the Beta?
The first phase of the Beta will cover the first, full 1/3 of the game. As the test period progresses, I will update the Beta until it covers 100% of the game, at which point the game will go into full release. I am attempting to do this in such a way where testers can download new files and pick up where they left off, with all of their progress intact, when an update drops, but bugs may occur.
There is currently no hard level cap. Players may level up their characters all the way to the soft cap of level 20 (after which no new features, skills or non-stat benefits appear). Leveling past that will result in stat bonuses.
This is a Beta, so there can be any number of bugs, glitches, typos, etc. I have not identified any game breaking bugs yet, but they may exist. Some placeholder graphics/UI/animations, etc. If something looks a bit odd or unfinished, it may be a placeholder. There are also some yet-to-be implemented features. The most notable of which is the Trauma System.
Thanks again for your continued support! I’m excited to finally launch this project out into the wider world. For all its faults and rough edges, I really hope the experience - especially the story - holds up. I think we’re in for a wild ride.
