Roboteers, stand by!
Hi all! My name is Reece, better known as kupa_, and I am one of the developers of Robot Rumble 2. I have been a part of the project since December 2019 so it is almost my fifth anniversary in the team! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, and it has been a huge honour watching the game, and the community, grow like it has over the years!
I originally came on board to build out the tooling and implementation of custom arenas, leading to the Arena Modding Tool and thus the huge amount of player created arenas we have today. Since then I have had my hand in pretty much every aspect of the game with a primary focus on bug-fixes and implementing some of the most popular community requests. Most recently I have been working away on the final implementation of the Undo/Redo system.

Joining the Robot Rumble team has truly been a lifelong dream come true. I remember when I was a kid that a friend of mine got a brand new Sega Genesis one Christmas, alongside a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Watching them play through the game with such a huge smile on their face ignited a passion within me, alongside a simple (or so I thought at the time) goal: I want to make games and bring that level of joy to others!
Seeing the insane levels of creativity and passion on display every day in the Robot Rumble 2 community brings me so much joy and pushes me to keep on improving the game as much as possible!

In the last diary we showed off our progress on the new and improved default RR2 US Arena, as well as touching on the Undo/Redo system coming soon. While Undo/Redo is still the main focus of the next major update we have also been working on various ideas on how to best to onboard new roboteers. Included in the next major update will be a new tooltip system that is designed to offer extra information and detail on the various component types in the game. These should hopefully help newer players understand how to construct a fighting machine and how all the different parts interact with each other.

An example of the new tooltip system that will be coming in the next major update!
Once again, we thank you for your support and cannot wait to be able to show you more in the near future!
See you all again soon,
