Well hello once again guess who's back again, It's me!
And in this months release of the Dev Diary we are going to talk about a tool which I am almost in every day called the AMT! (I swear it's not an addiction, I can stop whenever I want!)
What is the AMT?
The AMT is the Arena Modding Tool, and it is used to make your very own arenas for the game. Truly the only limit is your imagination - whether you want to just go old school and have fights in a car park, or maybe go a bit more wacky fight it out in say, a giant sink? The world is your oyster when it comes to this tool!
Why are we talking about it this time? Well, with the next Major Update just around the corner the AMT is ALSO GETTING A MAJOR UPDATE! There will be new functions, new triggers, and even new hazards all designed to bring even more mayhem to your creations. Let me say, as the person who makes the default arenas for RR2, all your robots should be shaking down to their speed controllers!
What else is new?
Part of the new features coming in the next Major Update include the addition of the first new game mode for RR2 - King of the Hill! In King of the Hill you will need to fight the other robots to get to the middle of the arena and defend your castle to earn points towards victory, 'cos we all know the old rhyme: "I am the king of the castle and you're the dirty rascal!"

But as I am the one who has made this arena I ain't gonna make it easy for you to get points! The scoring zone is on a raised plinth, so your ground scraping bots may get beached on the ramp! But that's not all - you know the hit song You Spin Me Right Round? Well, watch out, because at one minute left on the clock the ramp will live up to the tracks title and start to spin, causing complete anarchy for the robots trying to fight to be king!

As well as the above, we have some sad news - The original arena from many years ago that you know and love was left in such a dilapidated state back in the old RR2 warehouse (I blame kupa_ for not paying the bills):

But there is some good news! Some rich prince online got in contact with me via email and said they will give me over 20 million pounds which I then spent on fixing up the original arena so you get to vibe with this piece of RR2 history once again!

Lots of new changes are coming and they are all looking tasty! Should everything go to plan, we are hoping to have the next Major Update for RR2 in your hands in just a couple of weeks time!
