Roboteers, stand by!
Happy Feburary Robot Rumble 2 Community!
My name is Brendan aka Prisma, and I am one of the developers from the Robot Rumble 2 Dev Team. In this post I'll be telling y'all more about myself, looking back at 2024 to see what we accomplished, and tease our most-requested feature that we are working on!
About Prisma
I've been a part of this wonderful game community since December 2020 and have been helping develop since September 2022. I'm very thankful to be a part of the dev team, because my work on Robot Rumble 2 actually helped me get a real job as a Unity developer. A big thank you to Chris for having me on the team and helping pave my future. A lot of my work on Robot Rumble 2 has been quality of life improvements such as the Open Robot Folder button, weld help button, and Discord Rich Presence! In addition, I've helped with figuring out how to get the game to work on Mac OS with both Intel and Apple Silicon CPUs. I've also been working on one of our most requested features that I'll talk about later~.

I first got into robot combat back when I was on a First Robotics Competition team in 2016. My friend told me about this show on TV where robots fought each other, so I tuned in out of curiosity. Next thing I know, I'm rooting for Bombshell as it goes from a wild card all the way to being a finalist. From there I started looking for robot combat games before a few years later I find a little game called Robot Rumble 2.
It's Cheesin' Time
I'm most known in the community for my robot Cheesus that most of you know from the stock pack. Cheesus holds a very special place in my heart because of how many people seem to enjoy it. It originated from Robot Rumble 2, but I have also built it in Garry's Mod as well as in real life as a Viper kit and later a custom 1lb robot. I've had crowds and BattleBots team members chanting my robot's name, and I've even had someone ask for an autograph from Cheesus as well as asking if Cheesus would be okay after it lost a match. And yes, I do say, "It's Cheesin' Time" before a lot of my matches.

A Look Back
2024 has been a big year for our team. We managed to get our game on Steam which was something we joked wouldn't happen for a long time. I never thought I'd be able to say that I am part of the dev team for a game that is on Steam. So what else did we do? Doyle and Kupa went crazy last with updates introducing new motors and component changes. Some highlights though have to be the photo mode during fights that allow us to get some wonderful photos of our robots! Another big update has to be the addition of Robot folders to allow for easy organization of all of our robots. I'm not joking when I say I know people with over 500 robot files! As I mentioned before, I also added Discord Rich Presence so that people can share what exciting things they are working on in the game. I wonder if we can integrate Robot Rumble 2 with anything else~?
The Future
For 2025 we plan on continuing to push more updates to the game including adding more motors and features, adding and improving areas, fixing bugs, adding bugs, and going back to remove those added bugs. However, I know a lot of you are waiting to see what I've been teasing, so here's a little sneak peek:

Yep! We are working on adding Steam Workshop support to Robot Rumble 2! The Steam Workshop is the perfect medium for sharing robots in the community. We don't have an estimate of how soon it'll be out, but in the meantime you can always join our Discord server to see and share many wonderful robots!
Once again, we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and we can't wait to build and battle even more this coming year!
Thank you,
Prisma
