Capsuleers,

The Cradle of War Major Update has arrived. Ansiblex jump bridges now run on capacitor charge, Pirate Insurgencies move faster, wormhole combat sites are modernized, and ships across New Eden are rebalanced.

The highlights are written out below, but if you want the gory details, read the Major Update announcement, review the patch notes, and check out the dev chat with FC Okami, FC Kestrel, and FC Swift.

Force Projection Upheaval

Ansiblex jump bridges hold a limited capacitor charge that recharges slowly over time. Every ship passing through spends some of it, with different hulls carrying different costs, and jump distance playing a big part as well. Once the charge runs out the bridge goes quiet until it recovers.

Access is tighter too. Ansiblexes carry subcapital ships only, and only for capsuleers in the alliance that owns them. Coalition partners now need their own infrastructure, or another way to travel.

Insurgencies Intensified

Pirate Insurgencies are faster and more contested. Capsuleers on both sides have more influence on how an Insurgency spreads, Forward Operating Base (FOB) reinforcement cycles are shorter, and more of the total reward now comes from winning the Insurgency outright. A new site built for battlecruisers appears from corruption stage two upward, carrying a bonus equivalent to another skill level for as long as a pilot stays inside it.

Them’s Fightin’ Wormholes

Class 1 to Class 3 wormhole combat sites have been modernized. NPCs make smarter use of electronic warfare, capsuleers can bring energy neutralization to bear against them, objectives appear in the info panel, and the sites have had a visual pass.

Pochven Updates

Pochven has shifted again. Vigilance Points now take fleets of up to 12 pilots, with payouts adjusted to match, while Observatory Flashpoints come down from 15 to 12. Intra-Pochven and extra-Pochven wormholes have been iterated on, and roaming NPC fleets move through the region in greater numbers. Additionally, four new mutaplasmids create new opportunities to experiment with drone support modules.

Ship Balance Pass

The balance pass reaches marauders, black ops battleships, heavy assault cruisers, and assault frigates. Lower mass on marauders and black ops matters most when traversing wormholes, the Deimos, Phobos, and Vigilant regain range lost to earlier medium railgun changes, and lancer dreadnoughts carry stronger resistance profiles.

Achievement Tracking

Keeping track of progress is easier, too. The info panel now follows up to five achievements at once, so several objectives can run side by side without a trip back to the achievements interface.

Don’t Miss These Offers

Four Major Update packs are in the store until 5 October. Two are built for capsuleers stepping into wormhole space or a Pirate Insurgency for the first time, handing over the required skills for seven days. Two are built for capsuleers with history in New Eden. One gives you 500 PLEX, 648,000 SP, and a Genius 'Boost' Cerebral Accelerator at 50% off to close the gap after time away. Another repurchasable pack pairs 200 PLEX with a free crate that drops one of 19 rare SKINs or 500 PLEX.

Many new SKINR design components have been added to the Paragon Hub, and your SKIN designs can now launch into space faster and cheaper, as the Hub is offering 50% discounts on previously-released SKINR components, and also on the cost of sequencing speedups.

This offer is available until 5 October, and presents the perfect chance to express your creativity in New Eden.

Omega packs in the EVE Store still carry up to 1,500 PLEX free.

Before They're Gone

The first Military Campaigns are approaching their conclusion. Capsuleers still working toward their empire's objectives have limited time left to secure the rewards on offer, so there's no sense leaving them on the table.

The AIR Career Program (ACP) migrates to Paragon Services achievements in November. Anyone with unfinished ACP tasks should complete them and claim the rewards before the move. Once those tasks become achievements, they can be completed again through the new system, so there's a second run at them waiting on the other side.

Get Out There

New Eden is a different place as of today. Alliance borders matter in new ways, Insurgencies move faster, and familiar territory from nullsec to Anoikis has changed underfoot.

Undock and find out what that means.
