Hello everyone!
Sorry for the delay for this update. I had a kitchen accident and I had to get some stitches. I have only been able to use one hand so I have focused on fixing code bugs instead of doing art content (I need 2 hands to make new fish). My injury is slowly getting better and I'll be able to get some good art content into April's update.
Some bugs were fixed that players pointed out to us. Light colours not correctly being loaded after being customized by players. live bearing fish only produced female offspring. There were also a lot changes made to some code that appears to cause problems for only a few players in specific situations.
A more recent version of the unity engine is now being used. This might help fix some errors that we don't have control over such as problems with the unity engine itself. It also allows us to use a more recent version of their error reporting tools.
A debug build of fishery is now available to install. This is a special version that displays the errors and log files on screen and most importantly allows us to see more detailed error messages such as the exact line of code number where the error is occurring. If you are experiencing errors that are not able to be resolved then we recommend running the debug build of the game. You should see some red text appear on screen when the error occurs. This data will automatically be sent to us so we can much better analyze and fix the problems. This means that you don't need to manually send us any error messages that appear.
To switch to the debug build in the Steam client, right-click on the game from the library page and select "Properties". In the properties window select the Game Versions & Betas tab on the left.
Select "public_debug_branch" in the right pane. Then you should be able to download/update the game as normal. You will know if it has worked because when you run the game there will be some white text in the lower right corner of the window that reads "Development Build"
Unless I have another accident in the kitchen there will be an update in late April with some new fish and other items.
