Hello Flyout Community!
Today we will be showing off some of the features coming to Flyout in the next update! These features have been heavily requested by the players and should continue to improve QOL in terms of building and optimizing your creations! The two main features I can talk about today are the Joint Preview tool, and the Area Rule tool, both of which should help immensely in workflow and optimization.
Joint Preview UI:

The Joint Preview tool will allow players to easily visualize how custom setups and inputs will function, without loading into the simulation to test, and then returning to the editor to tweak it. This is one of our most highly requested features (outside of Steam Workshop, which is still planned). This tool will be very useful in tuning things like gear actuation, bay doors, and other mechanization. As you can see here, the tool will move the parts in the editor, allowing the player to ensure their control inputs function properly the first time, no more trial and error!
Area Rule calculation tool:

The Area Rule calculation tool is based off a popular mod created by a community member, and will now be coming to the game as a stock feature! This tool features both an overlay and a graph to help optimize your craft in the higher speed regimes, transonic and supersonic! Min-max players rejoice, you can now find exactly where your craft is generating the most drag at the speeds you intend to fly at, and this tool will be very useful for those chasing high-Mach numbers, or simply players trying to squeeze the most performance out of their current designs.
More news to come soon as progress continues on the update, we hope to have it in your hands within a couple months, however as always this is a loose "deadline" and we will update you when we have a more concrete timetable on release.
Thank you all for your continued support of Flyout, we love seeing the community creations submitted to the Discord and here on Steam, your creativity pushing the bounds of what Flyout is capable of never ceases to amaze us!
