Update 0.51.2 will be launched soon! It will bring a new feature into the game. Now players on all servers will be able to switch between PvP and PvE modes!
PvP-servers have the PvP-mode switch “On” by default. PvE-servers, accordingly, have the PvE-mode switch “On” by default. Basically, the difference between PvP and No-PK servers is in initial configuration only.
How does it work?
● Just click the button in your PDA!
● Bear in mind, though, that switching between the modes has a cooldown time — 2 hours.
● The mode you select won't affect the interaction of players from hostile factions. Simply put, opposite factions are always hostile, as is the case now on all PvE servers.
● The mode you select, PvP or PvE, will affect the engagement of 1) neutral players and 2) players of the same faction.
● Oh, and by the way! You will be able to switch between the PvE and PvP modes ONLY in safezones.

For instance, if you're a Black Sunset member, and you have the PvE mode on, you won't be able to kill players of your own faction and neutral players, but you will be able to engage in combat with Confederation players.
Here's another example. You're a neutral player with the PvE mode on, which means you can kill neither other neutral players nor faction players, be it Confederation or Black Sunset.
Why are we introducing this feature? Suppose, you're an ambitious but low-level neutral character. High-level true hardcore gamers keep getting in your way, and don't let you complete quests. What now? Switch on the PvE mode! You can't kill anyone. But no one can kill you! See? This is how it works, oh Chosen One.
The active mode is shown in player's identificator. It will help you understand which mode is active on a player, PvP or PvE.

If you feel yourself like Obi-Wan Killnoobie and you want/need/must to find out which one of you is cooler and whose gun is bigger, you both must have PvP mode switched on (unless you belong to hostile factions, as we have already said).
We developed an algorithm to prevent players, who enjoy the PvE mode, against stealing loot from mobs killed by other players. A character can loot a dead monster under one of the following conditions:
● if he dealt enough damage to the monster;
● if he is a group member, and the group TOTALLED enough damage to the monster;
● if he is a clan member, and the clan TOTALLED enough damage to the monster.
Finally, we'd like to bring more sense into the PvP mode, make it more meaningful than just "killing players of level 2 from Thunder for no real reason" (we're working hard on it; whatever we reveal to you is just a preparation). Thus, we push the active PvP phase for higher levels when players begin to understand how to shoot, what to loot, and how to survive in the cruel world :)
Moreover, you can't say NO to the PvP mode. That's what the factions are for.
Here's the upside: PvP players will gain 5% more experience.
With all our love, the WTLOnline Team
