New Beta Version 1.2.5 Update! New Dungeon Generation (In Beta Build)

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all doing great. Back with another beta update. This one is a smaller follow-up to 1.2.4, but it brings a new dungeon generation variant along with a few useful UI improvements and a beta-only leaderboard fix.

A New Dungeon Generation Variant

The main addition in Beta 1.2.5 is a new dungeon generation variant built from a heavily modified Voronoi algorithm. It will only show up from time to time, adding some extra variety to your runs while keeping the other dungeon layouts in the mix.

Current generation

New one: Much thinner walls

If you come across one of these levels, I would really love to hear how it feels to explore and play, and whether you run into any strange layouts.

On top of that, leaderboards are now easier to read at a glance thanks to class colors, while the merchant interface gets proper rotten-food tinting and a new weight-sorting option.

Full change log next.

Changes in Beta 1.2.5

UX/UI:

  • Leaderboards are now color-coded by class.
  • Rotten food in the merchant interface is now properly tinted.
  • Added a Sort by Weight option to the merchant window.

Bug Fixes:

  • [Beta only] Fixed an issue that prevented leaderboards from loading.

Other:

  • Added a new dungeon generation variant that can appear occasionally to bring more variety to dungeon layouts. It uses a heavily modified Voronoi algorithm.

How to Access the Beta

This has been released as a beta build. I invite you to test the new version. Here's how you can access it:

  1. Right-click on the game name in your library and select "Properties."
  2. Go to the "Betas" tab.
  3. Choose "beta" from the Beta Participation drop box.
  4. Restart Steam (not always needed but recommended).

If you have the time and patience, I would greatly appreciate it if you could give it a try, especially the new dungeon generation. Your feedback will help me identify any layouts that need more work before the update reaches the public branch.

As always, thanks a lot for the feedback, love, and support!

Happy dungeon crawling!
