Airmen update 1.5.8 brings magnetic mines to the battlefield. Mines are intended as auxiliary weapons that excel at taking down unmaneuverable targets. Smaller ships will be able to speed through minefields if they pilot carefully. Bigger ships have no chance of escape if they venture to close. Mine damage is high but ultimately avoidable through good positioning, speed, or diligent defusing efforts.
1.5.8
Major Features
- Added the magnetic mine layer. The mine layer can drop up to 5 mines at once and they are attracted to enemy ships. Mines explode in a large blast radius and stay active for 5 minutes. Double tapping the weapon group detonates all laid mines. Mines deal reduced damage for a short period after deploying. Mines have 600 hp.
Minor Features
- Players can now stand on top of mines and missiles. For easy missile mounting, jump before take off.
- Changed the respawn chamber collision geometry from a box to an octagon in battle.
- If a captain disconnects, their ship weapons will be disabled.
- Pigeon missiles and mines will not increase grief score if they deal team damage after a short period. You will still receive warnings.
- Toggling a weapon group will reload any reloadable weapons in that group.
- Added 2 new cosmetics unlockable using the magnetic mine layer.
- Added 2 new example ships: a light missile ship (Slash) and a medium mine layer (Outpost).
Bug Fixes
- Fixed ship positions desyncing when the captain disconnects.
- Fixed jumping of crosshair rotation during turret reloading.
- Missiles will no longer give hit markers when hitting nothing.
