Airmen 1.10.1 brings a new level of cooperation with the ally system. Any captain can mark any other team as an ally by clicking a member on the scoreboard. Allied teams gain a shield icon at the end of their scoreboard entry. Allied teams are ignored by AI gunners, autoturrets, missiles and mines. The ally system for now is intended to make piloting with friends and taking on the archipelago's bigger challenges as a team more possible.
The ally system is not a way to waive combat with other players. Marking an ally is a one-sided action and has no effect on the actions of enemy teams. For a mutual alliance, both parties must mark each other as allies. Captains can also remove an ally at any time. I'll be looking to expand the system in the future to notify each team if the alliance is either one-sided or mutual.
1.10.1
Major Features
- Clicking an enemy name on the scoreboard allows a captain to mark them as an ally. AI gunners, autoturrets, missiles, and mines will not target anyone marked as an ally.
Minor Features
- Added cargo cages. Cargo cages have higher durability and more connection points than cargo pads but higher mass and lower accessibility.
- Added float stone cargo racks. Float stone cargo racks negate a portion of cargo weight.
- When a captain leaves and rejoins his crew, captain privileges will be restored.
- When a captain leaves, another crew member will gain captain privileges until the original captain returns.
- Captains can kick crew members by clicking their name on the scoreboard.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed AI gunners ignoring "target crew" commands.
