Dear Martians,
We are a couple of hours into our Early Access launch of Memories of Mars and for those playing along, it is clear we’ve hit some launch-day obstacles.
First off, we want to apologize and acknowledge to you that we hear you, we are making a list, and we are 100% working on these.
Most of these issues relate to server connectivity in China specifically. Despite our best efforts and running several successful worldwide betas prior to launch where server stability was not an issue in any geography, it is clear that we’ve discovered a problem in our Early Access release. At this point it looks like the Singapore servers were caught off-guard by the sheer demand we have experienced in these first few hours. We are working tirelessly to address the issue, including the possibility of adding more servers in Hong Kong. Please be assured that our goal with this launch was to include our friends in China and the rest of Asia from the very start. We wanted to have a global community playing Mars and not make any one region wait, or feel left out. It’s clear we fell short, but it is still our vision and we will work to correct this.
We acknowledge all other issues which have been raised in these first few hours, none of which we consider to be bugs, but rather improvements to the Memories of Mars experience which we will obviously take on board in the spirit of any Early Access release. Even though some of these have resulted in negative reviews, we still want to extend a big “thank you” because we will take these reviews and feedback, and turn them improvements in the coming hours, days and weeks.
We had hoped we would have more than a couple of hours to respond to early feedback before negative reviews started to flood our forums. Our sole focus now is addressing these issues, earning back your trust and bring the fun of Memories of Mars to you. We will continue to respond to your feedback as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your patience, and continued support.
