Dear players,
During the last couple of weeks, I have been working on a "finalizing touch" for Grizzland. I added some features that were suggested or inspired by our wonderful community to make this grizzled world a cozy place to be.
Some "hidden" functions are now available in the game itself (previously you could only access them by tweaking the game files):
- V-Sync and Text Speed were added to the game settings.
- You can now delete the save files and reset a speedrun from the "save file choosing screen" (inspired by question from Twix).
- The 2 hidden NPCs (you won't find them on the map) can now resurrect all the bosses and activate "invisible walls" mode. The latter will expire upon death.
- You no longer have to "stand on" the in-game Radio to listen to its music.
- Brightness was removed from settings (because it was dumb :D).
- Snow effect will last until player dies or enters the Castle.
- You can now change the localization files in Steam_Files_Folder > Grizzland and the results will be loaded into the game. However, I believe that the files will be replaced with each update, so please keep a copy of them somewhere if you decide to change something in them. :)
Miscellaneous:
- Prices in the shop are now shown in coins, not hearts. (Reported by UNICOY);
- You should no longer be able to hold the Jump button to generate infinite amounts of particles and annoying jump sounds if you're standing right under the wall/slope;
- The game's stability and performance should be much better now.
- Saving/Loading processes are now asynchronous and happen less often.
- If you had previously unlocked an achievement in offline mode and still haven't got it on Steam, you might lose this progress.
- Gamepad tooltips were added in a couple of new places.
- You can now see visited secret rooms in "Journal" - "Notes".
- Secret Magnet will only "show" secrets you haven't found and secret rooms you haven't visited.
Bug Fixes:
- A rare issue which caused players to waste money in the shop without getting the item should no longer appear;
- Self-destructing while your arrow is on the screen should no longer crash the game. (Reported by UNICOY);
Speedrun Related:
- Timer will now show "more accurate" time. It is now updating more often and the format has been changed to the proper "00:00" (instead of "00:0", for example).
- The special event/cutscene on level 5 should no longer be triggered in Speedrun mode.
I hope that you will enjoy the update! :)
Yours forever,
Khud0
