View game pageThe expansion will be priced at $9.99 (or your regional equivalent) and will launch 25th February 2026 on both GOG and Steam.
As usual, this expansion will be launching alongside a big upgrade to the base game including many quality-of-life features, balance improvements and more. Details to follow in a later post!
My inspiration
When designing a new expansion, I like to base my designs around a core feature that will expand Megaquarium's gameplay in new, interesting directions.
With the Invertebrilliant Collection, that core idea is making the use of corals and other static invertebrates more dynamic, creative and beautiful!
I'll go into more detail about how I've done this in another blog post, but I hope the screenshot above has you excited about what's possible!
Another major part of this expansion are the new tanks, which open some really interesting design opportunities. With the underfloor tank, you have flexibility like never before on how guests can view your tanks - but they present their own tricky requirements in terms of allowing staff access.
Likewise, magnifying and raised tanks allow you to make the most of small and rare species, but their tiny capacity makes them inefficient in terms of floor space.
If you're still curious for more details, there'll be a dedicated blog post about all the new tank options in due course as well.
Details to come
As I mentioned above, I'll be releasing more details about the expansion itself as well as the many improvements and changes coming to the base game, via a series of blog posts over the coming weeks.
To make sure you don't miss a thing, click the 'follow' button under the trailer on the main store page and at the top of my developer page.
I'll also be posting the odd bonus pic or vid to https://x.com/TwiceCircled and the Megaquarium Discord over the coming weeks, if those are services you like to use.
Until then,
