Hey Everyone!
Today I have the very early stages of the Education system! Schools will educate people to a "basic" level. This is just the beginning of this system and it will grow over time. Your people will start to desire education (and thus become students) if their house is level 2, OR if there are open basic education jobs. The teacher's education level affects the speed at which people learn. If the teacher does not have any education the teacher will educate along side the students. Later this week I will be tying this system into the happiness system, which will add another layer of complexity.
Adding in this system right now may not have a massive impact right now, but I needed it in order to add other systems like religion later (priests will need to be educated for instance). As well as this system will help to push the housing upgrades when it is linked with the happiness system.
There is also quite a few other little things that have been added as well!
Patch Notes:
- New Building: School. Schools will educate people to a "basic" level.
- The unit info menu now displays the units education level.
- An alert has been added to let you know you need a school if you have basic education jobs available but no school built.
- Tax collectors now require a basic education.
- The tax collector in your town hall now starts with a basic education.
- Trade Routes now have 2-3 resources per buy and per sell up from 1-2 resources. This will substantially increase the amount of resoureces you can trade :)
- New game option for "Difficulty". Currently each difficulty will start you with 500 less gold. This option will start to affect more things over time.
- On easy you now start with 3000 gold Up from 2500 gold.
- Houses now cost 50 gold to upgrade down from 100 gold.
- Change the sound for the pottery hut.
- Changed the sound for the brick kiln.
- Fixed Trees draw locations. They should now draw where expected.
- Fixed a bug in the shopping system that allowed units to buy way to much of 1 resource.
- Fixed a click through issue with selecting builings where sometimes you would select a unit inside the building rather than the building itself.
- Unit selection is now more accurate.
- fixed a bug in which you could click through the exit menu.
- Fixed a bug which offset your units position if the game was loaded in a different resolution that it was saved in. Unfortunatly that means that current save files that are not saved in 1080p will have the units load in offset, as I have used 1080p as the save reference. All new save files will now load correctly at any resolution. I am very sorry this happened, but at least its fixed now.
I got a LONG way to go, but hopefully the gem is becoming more and more visible with each system added!
If you like the game, or even just the direction it is going, please take a second and review the game, as positive reviews will help keep traffic up for the game.
