Hey there everyone!
Thought I'd stop by and let you know what we're up to with our first update. As you know we've been a little vague with the exact date of the release, so I wanted to explain why.
One of the biggest problems we see with Early Access comes from ambitious developers over selling their product or their teams productive capabilities. There is nothing worse than planning an update, announcing it, then realising that it's going to take a loooot longer that you thought to build. It's a bad feeling for the players and it sucks for the developers.
Because of this we decided to stay vague and not promise too much in the early days of the EA. We weren't sure how much time wee would have to devote to bug fixes, how some of those bugs might impact on the development of new feature and so we thought it would be safer to not make a promise we might not be able to keep.
Having said that, we're pretty much on track to get this update out next week! So that's good news. As we've already done a post on what should be in it I just wanted to draw your attention to one key feature.
Languages:
We'll be adding support for several languages with the next patch, but we wanted to let you know that they have been generously donated by volunteers who want to help the game reach more people in their own countries!
Some of the translators are professionals and some are just ordinary folks that speak English. So we wanted to say thanks to them and to ask for your patience if there are any texts that aren't up to scratch.
This is Early Access so we will be pushing regular updates and continuously breaking the translations, so you will definitely see some phrases in English all the way up to version 1.0. Just a heads up in case you're wondering.
As mentioned we'll be adding support for workshop tools that will allow anyone to contribute to the translations. We encourage you to get involved. We'll probably even be able to included your name in the credits of the game if you're interested. :)
