First of all, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has used SYMMETRY alpha over the years and provided us with great feedback.
We initially released SYMMETRY alpha during February 2016, and have since expanded functionality to include online collaboration, layers and scenes. Within three years we accumulated more than 12,000 downloads, and we are extremely grateful to all of our users for helping us to reach this milestone.
From December 2018 we released the commercial version of SYMMETRY which is available at the link below (referred to as “SYMMETRY professional”). We utilized all of the feedback from our users to evolve our product and include functionality like redline markups, point cloud support and SYMMETRY Cloud, and we are happy to say that the response has been very positive. We are constantly improving SYMMETRY and will be ready to share some exciting news regarding our next major update soon.
Alas, after more than three years of free usage, we have decided to start charging for SYMMETRY alpha via Steam. As many of you are aware, VR industry growth has been slower than expected, and as such we need to do what we can to bring in revenue and acquire the resources needed to continue to improve our products.
From October 1st we will be charging a one-time fee of USD $99 for SYMMETRY alpha within Steam via credit card or Paypal. Upon logging into Steam, each user will be asked to update SYMMETRY alpha and purchase the DLC that will allow you to continue using the software. Please note that from October 1st, users will not be able to use SYMMETRY alpha without paying for the software.
