Spring is a season of growth and renewal, and we’ve applied that same spirit to your sculpting toolkit. We are thrilled to announce that the Spring Update for Shapelab Max 2026 is officially live!
This update introduces several key improvements designed to make your sculpting experience smoother, faster, and more intuitive in VR and on Desktop.
New Features & Improvements
Here is a closer look at what’s new in the Spring Update:
World Floating Windows (Document Outline, Context Menu): we’ve introduced a unified window system for all world-space floating panels, bringing consistent visuals and interactions across features
Always Visible Document Outline (VR Only): the Document Outline can now be undocked from the controller and used as a floating window in VR.
Virtualized Lists & File Browser Improvements: we’ve optimized lists to improve performance primarily in the Document Outline and File Browser
Isolation and Show-Hide Rework: We’ve reworked how Show/Hide and Isolation behave to make object visibility more flexible, predictable, and easier to control.
Brush Resolution Settings: we’ve improved the brush resolution UI and behavior for more consistent and flexible control.
Selection Highlights: we’ve reworked the highlight shader and colours, especially for scene mode selection. It aims at making the whole scene reading and management easier in VR
Static Images Packing: working with multiple reference images in VR just got much easier thanks to the new system that quickly organizes images into a clean, compact layout directly in your scene
