0.3.1 Update Ground Elites, Roster and Visuals

Driftscape Release Notes — August 18–26

New: Enemy Roster

A new Roster tab in the pause menu tracks every enemy you defeat, including its portrait, name, description, and your kill count. Enemies are grouped by ship, ground, elite, and boss. Entries unlock after your first kill, with 88 total to discover.

New: Ground Elites

Ground levels now feature six elite mini-bosses with unique mechanics and improved loot. Most levels can contain one, while deeper levels may contain two.

  • Ramhorn: Armored charger that becomes staggered after hitting a wall.

  • Bombard Walker: Mobile artillery unit that exposes its core while deployed.

  • Pavise Sergeant: Shielded enemy that buffs nearby units and can reflect shots.

  • Gloom Tender: Healer protected by orbiting tendrils and spreading ooze.

  • Deck Borer: Burrowing worm that tracks movement and erupts from the floor.

  • Pylon Shepherd: Creates electric barriers between pylons that must be destroyed.

New: Invincibility Powerup

Elite enemies now have a rare chance to drop an invincibility powerup, making you immune to damage for two minutes. A golden aura and warning flash indicate when it is active and about to expire.

Combat and Rewards

  • Bulwark, Brood Hauler, Arc Warden, and Juggernaut now always drop bonus orbs, with improved chances for larger orbs and invincibility.

  • Charge Shot can now be overcharged when you have at least three damage points and the Energy Pack. The upgraded shot releases two additional curving projectiles.

  • The Bastion encounter now keeps its shock-tether grid active throughout the fight. Nearby tethers can also fire seeker orbs.

  • Twin Reavers have a new appearance and are now connected by a damaging electric tether.

World and Exploration

  • Items discovered inside the Vey Lattice are now marked on your map for later collection.

  • Containment decks have additional doorways and connections to reduce backtracking, along with 33% more enemies.

  • Derelict station rooms now use updated metal flooring.

Visual and Audio Updates

  • Updated visuals for the Coil Serpent, Thumper, Brood Sac, Mortar Beast, and Brute.

  • The Brute is now twice its previous size.

  • The Thumper has a new drum-slam shockwave animation.

  • Station and cavern ambience has been replaced with a new deep-water soundscape.

Fixes

  • Fixed a crash caused by speed-buffed enemies dying during combat.

  • Shield blocks no longer display incorrect damage numbers.

  • Burrowing enemies can no longer trap the player when surfacing.
