Save the Oceans!
World of Warships and Popeye the Sailor Man both share an infinitely deep passion for the oceans. Our common goal is to prevent the mysterious and endlessly beautiful source of our admiration from dying, so we're pleased to announce that together with Force Blue we're going to do our best to help the cause. You can find out what we're preparing in a special article!
Who Is Popeye?
An underdog with bulging forearms, a mean uppercut, and a love of canned spinach, Popeye is a defender of the weak and protector of those he loves (including the oceans). Unassuming, unsophisticated, and undeterred by a challenge, Popeye inspires us all to work hard and be persistent. He stands up for what’s right and stays strong to the finish… with the help of a hefty amount of leafy greens, of course!
The Popeye the Sailor Man franchise is a global pop-culture icon owned by King Features Syndicate. From the moment he first appeared in a comic strip series by E.C. Segar in 1929, Popeye captured the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. As the star of his own comics strips and animated content on the big screen and small, Popeye became quickly ingrained in American culture and today remains one of the most recognizable icons in the world. Popeye is an iconic naval-themed IP and a truly entertaining character, very tightly associated with the U.S. Navy and with high nostalgia value, especially for older generations of naval enthusiasts in the West.
