After many years, we have made the difficult decision to retire Far East War from Steam.

First and foremost, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Far East War over the years - whether by playing, sharing feedback, reporting issues, creating content, helping other players, or simply being part of the community.

Far East War brought Company of Heroes to a very different battlefield, focusing on the Second Sino-Japanese War and introducing new factions, units, maps, and experiences to the game. We are grateful to everyone who joined us on that journey and helped keep the modification alive over the years.

Unfortunately, recent updates to the Steam Client have introduced technical difficulties that prevent us from reliably supporting and maintaining the proper distribution of the modification through Steam. Given these limitations, continuing to offer Far East War on the platform is no longer something we can support to the standard we would want.

As a result, Far East War will be retired from Steam.

The standalone release of the modification will, however, remain available through ModDB:

While this marks the end of Far East War’s journey on Steam, it does not diminish everything that came before it. We are incredibly grateful for the years of matches, discussions, and memories created by the community.
