Hi everyone, I'm Nater!
Throughout September, development was centered around three core areas: shifting home building to a tile-by-tile placement system, smoothing out how Kaka companions receive and execute skill commands, and integrating Alpa's guidance alongside the ancient tree's progression into the game loop.
This post highlights those three systems. While it isn't an exhaustive feature list, it highlights mechanics implemented in the current development build.
Build Your Own Space, Not Just a Prefab
Home building now uses a tile-by-tile placement system. Instead of dropping down a prebuilt structure, you can lay down individual walls and floors to shape your own rooms.
In September, the onboarding tutorial was also updated to align with this system, so that the early guidance and later home building use the same placement system. Gathering raw materials feels far more rewarding when they turn into a personal space built entirely by your own hands.

Command Your Companion, and Watch Them Follow Through
A companion's skill should never feel like a detached spell effect appearing out of thin air. When you issue a command, your Kaka needs to register the request, locate the target, and follow through with the action seamlessly.
This past month, we refined the command queue and follow-up logic, addressing issues where skill inputs could drop while a companion was still moving, returning, or wrapping up a previous animation. These changes are difficult to explain in a single screenshot; the aim is to make the transition from a command to a companion's action feel more consistent.

Bring Your Offerings to the Ancient Tree
The ancient tree's revival is steadily being woven into regular gameplay. Through dialogue with Alpa, offering resources, and referencing the Tree Book, you can clearly track the tree's current needs and growth stages without having to guess your next goal.
September's work connected this guidance and hand-in loop while adding visual updates that reflect the tree's growth. Camp progress is no longer just a status in a menu—it visibly changes right before your eyes.

The growth stage was set up before capture. This image shows the current requirements panel, not an offering or stage transition.
Continuing to Refine the Experience
Building mechanics, companion cooperation, and camp progression are all actively being tuned. For now, I wanted to share a look at the parts that have visibly come together. More gameplay footage will follow as development moves forward.
What would you be more excited to see next: building a cozy room from a patch of empty land, or an action-packed encounter alongside your Kaka companion? Let me know in the comments!
