The Steam page for Malibu Club is open. This is the first shift report: what the game is, and what a night behind its bar asks of you.
ON TAP
Malibu Club is a pixel-art cocktail bar sim under a Miami sunset. The door opens at six and shuts at two, and everything in between is done by hand.
A guest walks up to the bar. Click them and their licence comes up: a name, an age, a photo, and the drink they came for.
Then you make it. Bottles come up from the cellar on a tray, five a trip. No recipe tells you how much to pour: you lift the bottle, the liquid runs, and the gauge on the tin turns greener the closer you get. Shake it or stir it, drop the ice, dip the rim, and set the glass in front of them. Their face tells you how it went.
At two the lights drop and the night's slip prints: sales, rent, and the stars the bar earned. Then the market opens. The room starts in bad shape, and fixing and furnishing it is the other half of the job.
THE SLIP
- 54 recipes: shaken, stirred and built
- 41 bottles, a beer tower and five kinds of glass
- More than 70 fittings for the room
- 29 languages
NEXT ROUND
Next report: the licence. What is printed on it, and what happens when it lies.
If this sounds like your kind of bar, add Malibu Club to your wishlist. It is the biggest help a small game can get.
