This update changes how schedule money works, adds a new way to see how your players grew, two new calls for the end of a half, flags drawn on the board, and a big step for the Film board.
Schedule money
- Non-conference games now pay the way they do in real college football. Host a weaker school and you pay them a check but keep your ticket money. Go play at a stronger school and they pay you, but you give up that week's home gate and pay for the trip.
- A home and home books the return game the next season on its own.
- Ticket money is counted per home game now, not as one lump. A better opponent fills more seats, and so does your rivalry game.
- The scheduling screen shows each option's money in plain dollars before you pick it.
- Computer schools book and get paid by the same rules you do.
- Schedules you already set keep their old money. The new rules start with your next booking.
- In D2 and D3 the money is small on purpose. A buy game is a way to get a win, not a way to get rich. The big checks are in D1.
- Player development
- A new Development tab on Team. Each player shows one number first: how many points he has gained since camp opened. Biggest gains are on top, with the ratings that moved shown as before and now.
- The camp report is redrawn to match the rest of the game, and players who did not move are folded into one line.
- Saves from before this update fill in what they can. Where a season start was never recorded, the page says so and starts counting from here.
Play calling
- SPIKE and KNEEL are on the Special Teams sheet now, whenever the game lets you use them. Spike stops the clock and costs the down. Kneel runs the clock and loses a yard. The old bar above the plays is gone, so they live in one place.
- Flags on the Classic board
- A 4th down punt that a flag wiped out used to show the kick unit standing still and nothing else. It now plays the kick as it happened, then the flag, the referee's signal, and the ball walked to where the penalty puts it.
- Every accepted flag now shows the ball walked off: "BALL BACK 5", "BALL UP 15", "NO YARDS". A declined flag shows nothing moving and says what stands.
- Flags during kick returns used to show only a word in the caption. They are drawn on the field now.
The Film board
- New animation: running catches, over the shoulder catches, high point catches, stiff arms, fumbles, the scramble for a loose ball, tackles from the front and from behind, gang tackles and the pile getting up, drive blocks, the spike, the kneel, the fair catch signal, and the kickers on punts, kickoffs, field goals and extra points.
- Seven cameras to pick from: Broadcast, All 22, Wide, Pocket, each sideline, and the end zone.
- The crowd fills to the game's real attendance. Day, dusk, night and weather show up, and your school's end zones and midfield are painted.
- Scores and turnovers replay at half speed. You can turn that off in Settings.
- A broadcast layer with the line of scrimmage, the line to gain, a score bug, name tags on the ball carrier and the target, and a result banner. That can be turned off in Settings too.
- The in-game menu now lists all seven Film cameras, and the one you pick matches what Settings shows.
