- Terrain details and vegetation: terrestrial planets will now have trees and bushes that move in the wind.
- Terrain rework: added more detailed textures, added slope-based cliffs, LODs, anti-tiling, reworked terrain elevation itself, added dry/arid patches that can generate in higher flat sections of plains to give a sense of biomes, added tectonic plate simulation/warping, added terrain shadows, and also includes major performance improvements for the entire terrain generation and rendering.
- Added ‘feel’: camera rumbling on acceleration and head lag from G-forces, which besides being cool should also give you a more real sense of what your ship is doing and how it’s responding to physics, banking, etc.
- Terrain switching between different LODs (meaning it gets less detailed when further away, needed for performance) will now smooth this transition out with a dithering effect, just like trees.
- Added multiplayer interest management and dynamic session clusters meaning it will now dynamically switch players in and out of different sessions depending on activity, player count, and distance from each other.
- Added sound effects for footsteps, thrusters, doors, seats, UI, and landing jumps.
- Added accounts with Steam and Google Play Games sign-in.
- Added Triangle Plate and Pyramid Plate parts.
- Shadows will now smoothly fade in and out when crossing the max distance they appear at, they will show over much larger distances than before (up to 10x), and objects behind planets are now correctly darkened.
- Ships that are too far away from the player have their collisions culled to save performance.
- Debug console command input field is focused automatically when opened on PC, and added a command to view connected clients and entities info.
- On mobile, using terminals will now focus the camera on them first to get a better view.
- Updated terminals and monitors.
- Launch terminal will now show a loading indicator while your ship is being spawned.
- Flight controller will now be more forgiving for ships with relatively overpowered thrusters for their mass, preventing the up/down jitter from stabilizing.
- Now using compression for sending ships across the network and saving them on disk, decreasing size by up to 90%.
- Added nametags.
- Added the well-requested mirror mode to the builder.
- Added an example vehicle: the Clairvoyant by TinyFoxy.
- Added a button to join the Discord server on the main menu.
- Ship reactor power draw is now smoothed on the pilot seat monitor that displays it.
- When selecting an input field on mobile, it will now show a virtual input field above the keyboard so you can more easily see what you’re typing.
- Ship will now turn its engines off if the pilot seat is exited while it is close to the ground, and stay on if in space or mid-air.
- Ship yaw/pitch joystick on mobile now uses a non-linear curve to make making finer adjustments easier.
- Added support for flipping parts on the X axis, which was needed for the new Triangle Plate part.
- When flying fast close over the terrain, a frame budget is now used to spread expensive calculations to mitigate lag spikes. It will also keep terrain less detailed while fast moving to increase performance while doing low-pass flyby’s.
- Added ship builder hotbar categories.
- Player animation, head bob, (and the new footsteps,) are now all in sync. Also made sure the player animations now stops moving when faced wiuth a wall (whereas before it would keep playing).
- Various other generic optimizations.
- Fixed being unable to close the keybinds menu on PC.
- Fixed Large Hydrolox Thruster collider size being off (again).
- Fixed ships over 65Kb failing to spawn in multiplayer.
- Fixed other players sitting in seats always facing the front of the ship instead of the direction of the seat itself.
- Fixed non-pilot seats still showing the ‘Enter Pilot Seat’ UI when occupied.
- Fixed small possibility of saving a corrupted ship if you close the game while saving.
- Fixed visual artefact where a hole would appear in the middle of a thruster exhaust cone when viewed straight from exactly behind.
- Fixed entering pilot seat on PC would briefly flash downwards thrusters.
- Fixed physics issues when you got too far away from your ship. Made it so it will despawn if you get too far away.
- Fixed some issues on PC when switching between windowed modes and game/new scene loads.
- Fixed player animation starts floating when pausing the game, also for remote players.
- Fixed thruster exhaust effects being too large for the physical size of the nozzle.
- Fixed pressing help button in the ship builder on PC soft-locking the game.
