¡Wepa! Update 1.2 is live. This is the biggest update since launch. Here is what changed.
NEW IN THE FIGHT
• Golden Coquí — every few minutes, a golden coquí drifts across the stage. Catch it for ×7 coins for 30 seconds, an instant cooldown reset, or an energy bar filled to 200%.
• Enraged bosses — at half health, every boss turns: 20 seconds where every hit is a critical. Finish it, or it heals 10% and calms down.
• Endless island — after Borikén is defended, the whole island comes back harder, zone by zone, instead of the last zone on repeat.
• Daily Cafecito — your first session each day resets all cooldowns and doubles the bar. Play on consecutive days for +5% coins per day, up to +35%. Nothing farms while the game is closed; the bonus is for showing up.
PROGRESSION
• Level-ups no longer stop the action unless they unlock an ability.
• The shop reveals upgrades as you earn, so there is always something new coming.
• Three new Rebirth perks: Island Memory, Ancestral Toolbox, Steady Hands. The HUD shows what a Rebirth would pay.
• First enemies are faster to beat, and every zone from Old San Juan on ramps in gently.
TEN NEW ACHIEVEMENTS (20 total): ¡Wepa!, A Millón, Bilingüe, ¡Qué Cantazo!, Full Toolbox, Café Addict, Around the Island, Reborn ×5, A Thousand Down, Eye of the Storm. Progress bars show on the counting ones.
ART — all 50 enemies are now drawn by hand in the game's style: from the street cat of Old San Juan to the ghosts of El Morro, the cemí of the Cueva del Indio and the storms of the final zone. No more emoji stand-ins.
CONTROLLER & STEAM DECK — full controller support: A attacks (hold to repeat), face buttons and bumpers fire abilities, D-pad and LT shop, Start pauses. Steam Deck starts fullscreen.
STEAM — Rich Presence, achievement progress bars, and a transparent app icon.
ALSO — the whole game in Spanish (Latin America); effects volume and interface size settings; safer saves with automatic backup; launch-week fixes (tutorial clicks after Main Menu, double rebirth, lost level-up bonuses).
Thank you for playing and for every report. Coquí Crusader is made by one person in Puerto Rico; every review and every message helps. ¡Pa'lante!
