Hey, I’m Chris. I wanted to give you a clearer picture of what I’m building with Epoch Studio.
The idea starts small: write a sentence, a scene, or a whole manuscript. Epoch helps you understand the people, places, events, and loose threads inside it. From there, I want the story to become something you can see, question, and eventually step into—while you remain in charge of what’s true and what belongs in the book.
Right now, Epoch is an alpha. You can write and explore the connected studio, but I don’t want to pretend every room is finished. Making images and covers is still being improved. Audio is experimental. I’m also thinking about how the studio should serve different kinds of books and writers, rather than assuming every project is the same kind of novel.
The immediate priority is simpler than the big vision: make the first session feel natural, make the writing-to-world connection genuinely useful, and fix the places where the tools get in your way. The longer-term dream is a living, author-controlled world that grows from your words. That’s a direction, not a promise that every part of it is in this playtest.
If you have Epoch installed, I’d love to hear two things: What kind of book are you making? And where did you get stuck or wish Epoch could do more? Even a one-line reply helps me decide what deserves attention next.
Thanks for being here this early. I’m building this in the open, and I want the thing we end up with to be worth your time.
— Chris
