Hey everyone!
The middle and late game needed more going on. I want you building out, taking risks, and having a reason to bring that army somewhere besides the next town. This update gives you more to fight for.
Get out there. The realm has work for you.
Seven optional Realm Events are here: Skull Raid Party, The Bone Caravan, Grave Bloom, Faction Feud, A Crown Without a King, The Sleeping Giant, and The Last Stand.
Intercept a warband. Break a caravan escort. Bring your Hero to a throne and survive its waves. Or wake something you probably should have left sleeping.
Events start opening up after the first 8 minutes with 2 settlements and 12 allies. Bigger opportunities need a stronger realm. One event at a time, with breathing room between them.
Win the fight. Keep the strength.
Completed events reward ore, supplies, and a Hero buff that lasts for the rest of your run. There is also a 20% chance to pull one bonus skill point for Soul Sigils, Tactics, Raid, or Settlement AI. Your existing XP stays where it was. Look for the gold RARE FIND reward!
Your Hero has a journey now.
Your Hero earns XP from kills and nearby allied town clears. Buying upgrades opens room to grow; the levels still have to be earned.
- Hero unlocked: level cap 2. Reach level 2 for sword lifesteal.
- Bow unlocked: level cap 4. Reach level 4 for Rain of Arrows against grouped enemies.
- Healing staff unlocked: level cap 6. Reach level 6 for the visible Grave Bloom area heal.
- Hero's Party unlocked: level cap 8. Push your champion further with your army at his side.
His level is shown, his name stays readable, and earned progression carries through revivals during the run. He is your champion, but he still needs support.
Less menu wrestling. More playing.
- Recommended upgrades now have ON/OFF controls above each of the four main trees, plus an ALL switch. Auto Upgrades follows those choices when enabled.
- Realm Events has a movable, collapsible panel with clear settlement and ally counts and progress toward the next event tier.
- Mineshaft previews accept trees and rocks in the way, then clear them when built. Other buildings and boundaries still block placement.
- Fixed the clipped top HUD and improved space for wrapped controls.
- Victory results now show events completed and Hero kills across revivals. Long results can wrap and scroll.
One settlement is a foothold. Build your next. Grow your army, pick a fight worth taking, and see how far your Hero can go.
Thank you for playing and telling me what needs work. That feedback means a lot. Keep it coming.
