News is now part of the main Scheduling Library, making it easier to browse and schedule alongside your regular content.
Morning, Afternoon, and Evening News now appear in the same scrollable list as your Movies and Shows. This update also fixes a crash that could occur when upgrading the Newsroom beyond Tier I.
News Now Scrolls With Your Library
Previously, News broadcasts were kept in a separate Special Broadcasts section pinned above the main content list.
They now appear directly inside the scrollable Scheduling Library under a compact Special Broadcasts label.
Movies, Shows, and News can now be browsed together using one unified list and one scrollbar.
This also gives smaller screens more room for your regular programming.
Compact News Rows
News broadcasts now use the same compact format as other library entries.
Each row shows:
A dedicated newspaper icon
News broadcast name
Duration and available daypart
Current scheduling availability
For example:
Morning News · 30m · 06:00–11:00
The availability badge updates automatically, showing Available 1/1 when the broadcast is ready to schedule and the assigned time once it's been placed.
Schedule News Like Any Other Content
News continues to use the same scheduling interactions as regular content.
You can drag and drop or click to assign a broadcast, while the existing daypart validation continues to determine whether the placement is valid.
The underlying News scheduling rules haven't changed.
Fixed: Newsroom Upgrade Crash
We've also fixed a stability issue that could cause a black screen when upgrading the Newsroom beyond Tier I.
The issue occurred when the upgrade interface tried to reference the next tier before its configuration had been properly resolved.
The Department Detail screen, facility card, and upgrade modal have all been updated to handle the transition safely.
Existing saves affected by the issue should now load normally.
No Changes to News Mechanics
This update changes how News is presented in the Scheduling Library, not how it works.
The existing:
Daypart rules
Scheduling behavior
One-per-type-per-day limit
Newsroom mechanics
all remain unchanged.
Why Move News Into the Library?
News is something you actively schedule just like every other piece of programming, so it should be part of the same workflow.
Bringing Morning, Afternoon, and Evening News into the main library means everything you can schedule is now in one place.
The result is a simpler, more consistent scheduling experience — with a useful crash fix included along the way.
One library. One scroll. Everything you can schedule.
