Correction, 2026-09-16 — I announced twelve silhouettes. Of the six new ones, four have been cut. Laid out side by side, they did not reach the bar for fear.
Cut: the one with both hands pressed to the screen, the one with its head tilted, the one carrying something, the one half risen. All four are postures an ordinary person takes, and as silhouettes nothing uncanny survived.
Two ship:
- The one standing with its back turned
- The one sitting with its head bowed
So the silhouettes go from six to eight. Fewer than promised. Count is not quality, and I will not pad the number with things that are not frightening.
Whichever one falls across the screen, the rule is one.
II. When a shadow appears, lower your eyes
Look away and you live. Wanting to look anyway is what makes you human. At this inn, that one moment decides it.
