Pixie 0.14.1
A small update built from your first week of feedback. Live on the default branch; Steam updates you automatically.
New
- Snack time — type /eat and your pet gets a treat of its own: fish for the cat and penguin, a bone, a carrot, an apple, bamboo, a sunflower seed, a cookie, a candy, a drumstick, a battery, a jelly cube. Five bites, proper chewing, crumbs and all. Birds hold theirs with their wings.
- Rock-paper-scissors is now a match — one start, first to 3 wins. Rounds follow each other on their own (no need to pump again), ties and unreadable rounds are simply replayed, and the winner gets a crown or a star card.
- In-app guide — the new ? button in the chat window explains everything Pixie can do (camera, hand signs, the game, commands, sleep, sounds, privacy) in all 10 interface languages. The first-launch introduction was refreshed too.
- Every character has its own happy sound when you click it: the cat purrs, the dog pants, the rabbit chatters its teeth, the dragon rumbles, the robot chimes…
Improved
- Hand reading during rock-paper-scissors is much more reliable: the leftover fist from the countdown no longer counts, the window waits a little longer if your sign hasn't settled, and a "?" card tells you when your hand couldn't be read (instead of a confusing raised eyebrow).
- The chat window logs every round — your sign, Pixie's sign, the score — so you always know what it saw.
- Pixie no longer dozes off in the middle of a dance, a snack or a game; the nap waits until it's done.
Fixed
- All characters were using the cat's voice (meow, purr and all). Each character now speaks with its own voice as intended.
- Sleep now cancels any reaction still playing, so nothing is left hanging mid-animation.
Twenty-one slash commands now — /help lists them. As always: everything runs on your computer, nothing is uploaded.
