Hi,

During a play test session with a friend, they mentioned that they really liked the Career Stats page and that it's awesome when a game gives you the ability to analyze your gameplay and strategies.

I've built numerous dashboards and data analytics tools as part of my regular job (for both business analysis and cyber security), so I thought I could really take this concept and make something that's over-the-top cool and beyond what 99% of other games deliver in this space.

I honestly wondered why games rarely include a bunch of personal gameplay metrics? I've always loved how games like Factorio provide decent charts and graphs for your factory and give the player a way to dig into performance across a complex system. I mean, the game itself is a closed system, right? That means the data we need to implement this should all be relatively easy to obtain.

I figured I have nothing to lose and would give this a shot.

The "Career Analytics" System

Every action you take in this game is time-stamped and has a load of metadata- it becomes part of your personal Career Analytics.

This data is stored locally in a save file on your computer (I don't and won't collect it!). I only need to send the player stats to Steam that are directly required for tracking progress on the game's Steam Achievements (just have to noting this for those who care!).

This is a work in progress... and I'll tune it as needed. But, there is a TON of awesome information in here.

Having detailed data about your gameplay can make a single player game more fun. I'll be thinking of additional information to include here, since it's pretty awesome.

One area of stats that I already see that's missing is: information about the target networks, what node types the players execute which tactics against, how much of the network is explored, what's the percentage of networks net-worth that was ransomed/exfiltrated, etc... I'll be add this soon.

Here's a quick overview of the available Career Analytics dashboards...
