You can actually see your Wingmates now
After 2.14 went out, one of our playtesters bought a Wingmate on wave 3 and never saw it once. That's on me. They were too small, they had no marker, and four of them were flying around on a borrowed drone body that blended right into the scenery. So this update fixes all of that, and the last four units finally have their real armour.

What's new
- You can see your Wingmates now. Each unit carries a cyan ring and a small chevron, so you can pick out your squad in a crowded fight. Their bodies are also bigger, so they read at Steam Deck size.
- Wingmates announce themselves. A unit's first wave starts with a WINGMATE LAUNCHED banner and a cyan launch flash, and new Wingmate cards in the Outfitter say the unit joins you next wave.
- Breaker, Sentry, Torch and Patch have their real bodies. The Breaker is a four-legged ram that walks and lunges into its hits, the Sentry is a tripod gun whose turret swings onto its target, the Torch is a bladed cutter drone, and Patch is an armoured field tender. All four wear the same navy-and-cyan Helion Combine armour as the Mule and the Bastion, and bolt on new parts as they rank up.
- Your squad spreads out. Idle Wingmates fan out around you instead of piling onto one spot.
- Overwatch and Slag Spray work now. The Sentry's Overwatch fires a rapid five-shot burst, and it shoots faster while you stay within 6 m of it. The Torch's Slag Spray hits everything around it and sets it burning. Both charges used to fill up on the HUD without firing anything.
If you bounced off Wingmates in 2.14 because you couldn't tell they were there, give them another run. And if you're enjoying the game, a review on the store page helps more than you'd think.
