🗺️ Command From Above
Now: you lead one army from the front.
Next: pull the camera up into a top-down command view, Total War style. Seamless
▸ Drag a box to select your flanks, then right-drag to draw the exact line you want
▸ Men march along real paths: out through the fort gate, not into the wall
▸ Press F to follow a formation as it advances
🛡️ Raise Centurions, Build Flanks
Now: one block of soldiers.
Next: promote a seasoned Veteranus to Centurion and he takes his own flank. Recruit straight into it, move men between flanks, and let your soldiers vote for their own officers. 🗳️
🏹 Nothing Is Wasted
▸ Javelins can be recovered. After a victory your men hold the field and gather the javelins lying around them. You can pull them out of the ground yourself, even mid-fight.
▸ Wounds heal on the march. ❤️🩹 Out of battle your men recover on their own. Armor still needs the fort.
▸ Press 4 to switch your line's auto-fire on or off.
🔥 The Gauls Answer To You
Take a settlement, plant your flag 🚩, and its warriors can be hired. The Ambactos, Gaisatos and Caturix are cheaper than legionaries and fewer in number, and they will never be Roman. But they fight for you.
