TYPE ROYALE IS HERE!

Rocket Rush now includes an entirely new competitive typing game mode, along with major gameplay, presentation, audio, accessibility, and online improvements.

A WHOLE NEW GAME MODE

• Type Royale pits you against a 100-pilot field of players and bots.
• Play Solo Practice, Daily Transmissions, Quick Match, or host a lobby for friends.
• Quick Match searches for real players and fills the remaining field with bots after 60 seconds.
• Keyboard and controller players receive separate competitive divisions and leaderboards.
• Your distance is banked even if your rocket explodes. Steam only replaces your leaderboard score when you set a new personal best.

NEW TYPING GAMEPLAY

• Capital letters, Shift inputs, and punctuation must now be typed correctly.
• Mistakes appear in red exactly as entered and temporarily stop your progress.
• Use Backspace to repair mistakes during the three-second grace period.
• Sentences appear progressively, keeping the typing area focused and readable.
• Every 60 seconds, there is a 50% chance of an incoming asteroid.
• Press Tab and complete an emergency diversion sentence to evade it—or take five hull damage.

YOUR ROCKET NOW RESPONDS TO YOUR SPEED

• The rocket is centered in the action with a translucent terminal near the bottom of the screen.
• The faster you type, the faster your rocket appears to climb.
• At 55 WPM, the afterburner changes into bright cyan and violet plasma.
• At 70 WPM, Hyper Burn activates with a larger white-blue flame, wind streaks, shock rings, and stronger engine audio.
• Rocket damage, asteroid impacts, hull condition, and explosions are now clearly animated.
• Live placement and nearby opponents remain visible on the right side of the screen.

TRAINING, DAILY CHALLENGES, AND ANALYTICS

• New interactive training teaches capitals, punctuation, mistake correction, and asteroid diversions.
• Added keyboard-layout help for Shift combinations and international layouts.
• Daily Transmissions provide a shared challenge and personal-best ghost competition.
• Post-run analytics show WPM, accuracy, mistakes, corrections, damage, asteroid reactions, and performance over time.

NEW AUDIO AND ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS

• Added quiet mechanical typewriter sounds for typing and Backspace.
• Added rocket ignition, engine, damage, critical-hull, explosion, and speed-dependent afterburner audio.
• The full gameplay music playlist now plays in Type Royale.
• Added a dedicated Typing SFX volume control.
• Added Reduced Motion, Reduced Flashing, and High-Contrast Hazard options.

NEW STEAM FEATURES

• Added six Type Royale achievements: First Transmission, Signal Complete, Perfect Copy, Top-Ten Telemetry, Black Box Record, and Letterboard Pilot.
• Added separate Type Royale progress leaderboards for keyboard and controller pilots.
• Improved online host verification, synchronized races, bot-filled lobbies, disconnect handling, and leaderboard reliability.

Thank you for playing Rocket Rush. Strap in, warm up those fingers, and see how far you can fly!
