ZaZaCut Patch Notes 8/29/2026
Interactive Clip Review
Added a fully integrated clip review player directly inside the main ZaZaCut workspace.
Detected clips can now be played and reviewed without opening a separate window.
Each detected clip now includes a thumbnail for faster visual navigation.
Clicking a clip loads the actual video and starts playback automatically.
Added a full-width trimming timeline for adjusting the start and end of every clip.
Edited clip boundaries are used automatically during export.
Added a one-click Reset Trim action for restoring the original detected range.
Compact Preview Player
Redesigned the clip player into a compact two-row layout.
Replaced large text controls with dedicated Play, Pause, Volume, Mute, Loop, and Reset icons.
Added tooltips and clearer hover and active states for every playback control.
Improved timeline sizing and responsiveness across different window widths.
The new player takes less vertical space while keeping all playback and trimming controls immediately accessible.
Smooth Preview for Large Videos
Added automatic lightweight preview proxies for large and high-bitrate source videos.
Preview proxies are optimized for fast seeking and smoother playback with 2K and other demanding footage.
Original source videos remain untouched and continue to be used for analysis and final export.
Preview proxies are generated in the background and cached for reuse.
Old unused preview files are cleaned automatically.
Limited proxy and thumbnail processing threads to reduce CPU spikes and interface lag.
Thumbnail and Playback Reliability
Restored missing thumbnails in the Detected Clips table.
Thumbnail generation now runs independently while preview optimization is still processing.
Fixed clips occasionally requiring Pause and Play before playback would begin.
Rapidly switching between clips no longer allows an older delayed playback request to interrupt the newly selected clip.
Improved preview cleanup when videos are removed or ZaZaCut is closed.
Detection Performance
Audited all 11 visible Detection Profiles and added validation for their complete configurations.
Reworked brightness-flash detection to process video frames incrementally instead of loading the entire decoded stream into memory.
Reduced memory usage and long pauses in Horror / Atmospheric analysis.
Optimized repeated timeline lookups used by silence buildup, scoring, and Dialogue / Calm detection.
Added clearer progress reporting during heavier visual analysis passes.
Detected Clips Table
Added a single unified hover effect for the entire clip row.
The clip currently loaded in the player now remains clearly highlighted.
Selected clips receive a subtle green row background.
Removed distracting per-cell hover and keyboard-focus rectangles.
Clicking a row now focuses the complete clip instead of an individual table cell.
Enlarged clip selection checkboxes and simplified the table columns.
Export and Workspace UI
Moved Render Quality and Encoder controls directly into the Export panel.
Render settings are now locked safely while an export is running.
Renamed the platform section to Safe Zones Area.
Replaced platform text buttons with compact Universal, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram icons.
Arranged all Safe Zones presets in a single responsive row with tooltips.
Refined the main workspace surface, hover feedback, borders, and panel styling for a cleaner unified interface.
