Thank you to everyone who has played the Playtest and shared feedback with us.
v0.6 is the largest structural update to the game so far. This update does more than add new cards: a tower climb is now a continuing exercise in resource management. Players must decide which cards to spend now, which ones to preserve for later rounds, which rewards are worth swapping into the deck, and how much they are willing to risk on the climb.
Normal Mode Rebuilt
Normal Mode now consists of three floors.
Each floor is a best-of-three series. Win two rounds to advance.
Players enter with a nine-card loadout.
Each player card may only be used once per floor and returns when the next floor begins.
Every floor contains three Demon groups, with nine non-repeating Demon cards in total.
After a round, the next Demon group is revealed before reward and deck decisions are completed.
Collection and Loadouts
A new Collection screen is now available from the main menu.
Easy Mode uses a seven-card loadout, while Normal Mode uses nine cards.
Cards can be added, removed, reordered, and inspected through dragging or double-clicking.
Loadout presets can be saved and applied for later runs.
Cards now exist as individual instances. Moving a card into a loadout immediately reduces the available quantity shown in the Collection.
Missing cards can be purchased directly from the Collection with gold.
Rewards and Risk
Rewards now come directly from the three Demon cards you have just defeated.
Your performance rating determines how many of those cards you may obtain.
Reward cards can be sent to the Collection or swapped into the current tower loadout when a valid target exists.
The next Demon group remains visible while these decisions are made, and swaps can be rearranged before confirmation.
Reward candidates that are not obtained disappear.
Losing a tower run now means losing the cards carried in that loadout.
Continuing from a save after defeat will not consume the same Collection cards again, but that continued run can only award score—not gold or card rewards.
Six New Cards
Six new character cards have been added, each with complete Upright, Reversed, and Demon effects:
James
Lanni
Jack
King
Prince
Sage
These cards introduce new ways to manipulate die weights, replay resolved effects, seal cards, rewrite value changes, and interact with the history of an entire resolution chain.
Clearing Easy Mode awards one copy of each new card and unlocks them for use in Normal Mode. Existing saves that had already cleared Easy Mode will receive them automatically through save migration.
Demon Deck Building Updated
After clearing Easy Mode, players can build one ordered three-card Demon group from their final seven-card deck.
After clearing Normal Mode, all nine final cards are arranged into three ordered groups of three.
Group identity and card order are preserved, preparing the format for the future player-created Demon Deck system.
Interaction Improvements and Fixes
Improved drag-and-drop reward swapping.
Invalid same-card replacements now provide clearer visual feedback.
Fixed loadout presets incorrectly reporting that owned cards were missing from the Collection.
Improved save migration and Collection compatibility.
Fixed resolution stalls involving Moon, Horse, Animal cards, and a Final Die showing 4.
Addressed several cases where a resolution choice could leave the game unable to continue.
Added complete artwork for all six new cards and replaced all three Sage illustrations.
Hard Mode remains temporarily unavailable. It will return in a later version as a full seven-floor challenge, with a best-of-three series on every floor.
Please keep sending us your impressions, rule questions, and bug reports. Thank you for helping The Tower of Seven continue to grow.
