Headlined by a real fix for degraded camera/UI behavior on clients online, closed one-timer exploits, another deep goalie pass, and a reworked shot-elevation ladder.
⚠️ Fixed: clients had broken camera and offside behavior all game
- If you weren't hosting, the game's internal "who has the puck" check silently never worked for you — it was only ever correctly wired up for the host. This quietly broke three things for every non-host player, the whole game: your camera lost its zoom-ahead and lean-in framing for as long as YOU carried the puck; the camera's attacking-direction awareness (zone bias, possession-based framing) never worked at all while watching a teammate or opponent carry; and the offside "ghost" banner could wrongly tell you to skate back and tag up while you were carrying the puck — which is never actually offside. All three are fixed.
🥅 One-timers: closed a real exploit, fixed the lag
- Fixed one-timers connecting on a feed that sailed several meters wide of you — the timing window was supposed to forgive bad timing, not bad position, and a fast pass could trigger a shot from way outside where your stick actually was.
- Fixed airborne pucks being strikeable by a one-timer swing — a puck still in the air shouldn't connect with a slapper motion meant for a puck on the ice.
- Fixed remote players' one-timers firing later than their own screen showed the swing happening, and fixed them firing at flat max power instead of the actual charge the shooter built.
- Fixed the goalie's reaction timing on remote shots being off by a consistent ~33ms — small on its own, but real on every online shot.
- Fixed a desync that could let a legitimately-timed one-timer get silently dropped by the host while your own screen showed it firing — the puck would snap back onto your stick a moment later.
🥅 Goalies: reading screens and coverage
- Screening (traffic blocking the goalie's view) is now judged from his actual eyesight, not the shot's flight path — a body planted right in front of him used to sometimes not count as a screen at all if the shot was aimed at a post, while a body near the puck's path but outside his real sightline used to blind him even though he had a clean look.
- New: goalies actively "peek" around a screen by shifting position to see past it — a real trade-off, since every bit of peek costs him coverage on the side he steps away from.
- Fixed a goalie getting beaten wide by a fast forehand-to-backhand move not correctly reading the puck's own speed, and fixed his response to being beaten canceling itself out right at the moment the move actually finished.
- Fixed goalies giving up net position to cover a backdoor man who was already covered by one of your own defensemen — he now trusts his teammate the way a real goalie does on a 2-on-1.
- Fixed committed shot-blocking teammates counting as a screen against their own goalie.
🥅 Shot elevation, reworked again
- Elevation is now a real, live choice at the ranges you actually shoot from — the loft ladder was previously bunched so tight that most real shots from the slot had no way to roof it at all; each blade curve pattern now spaces its Low/Mid/High rungs across its own real shooting range instead of three near-identical options.
- Going upstairs on a goalie who's already down in the butterfly is now a real, distinct shot — over his flattened pads, or at the armpit over his committed hands — instead of every elevated shot aiming at an invisible "standing" wall regardless of his actual posture. Bots read this too, so they'll go upstairs on a goalie who's already down instead of always shooting flat.
🎮 Gamepad: shot power moves to the trigger
- Shot power is no longer tied to the same stick you aim with — it now rides the right trigger's own travel, so you can aim precisely and control power independently instead of sacrificing one for the other.
⛸️ Bot defense & difficulty
- Fixed the last defender back charging too far up-ice to meet a rush still developing in the neutral zone, getting beaten, and trailing the play home — he now holds a more measured position.
- Normal-difficulty bots now genuinely miss more shots (and read as real saves, not near-guaranteed goals) instead of scoring at a rate closer to Hard.
- Fixed Normal/Easy-difficulty bot passes traveling at the same speed as Hard's despite a setting meant to slow them down — passes on lower difficulties are now genuinely softer and easier to read, and bots on those difficulties stop throwing risky fast feeds their slower puck can't actually deliver safely.
- Lower-difficulty bots holding a fresh puck now weigh how good the play actually is instead of pausing the same flat amount no matter what — a great chance is taken almost instantly, a marginal one is held a beat longer.
Presentation & fixes
- Catching a pass now shows a real "cushion" tell — the blade visibly knocks back and cups over the puck as it's corralled, scaling with how hard the pass was.
- Fixed the slapshot aim arrow not appearing during a plain charged slapshot without an active one-timer reticle.
- Fixed the new Locker gear screen being completely unusable with a controller, and fixed it stranding controller focus after closing.
- Fixed lobby bench dummies' arms rendering as flat color instead of your kit's proper arm stripes.
- Fixed goals scored off a goalie's pad, glove, or shoulder sometimes logging as a save instead of a goal in your stats and shot map, and fixed goals with no tracked shot (a jam-in, a scramble) plotting at center ice instead of their real location.
- Fixed playing a rematch without returning to the lobby causing the previous game's shots to duplicate onto the new game's stats and shot map.
- Fixed a rare case where a client's end-of-game stats (podium, Three Stars, uploaded career stats) could be stale if a goal was scored right at the buzzer.
- Fixed a network-queue bug that could cause a brief, visible correction snap during otherwise smooth online play, even on a healthy connection.
Compatibility
- Network protocol updated twice this patch (one-timer handling, final match stats) — everyone needs this build to play together.
