Stacked Lines — Playtest Update
Quick but important one. The big fix: **cards read properly again** — the play text that was coming up blank is back and clearer than ever. And the rink is alive now — **there are skaters out there**, reacting to the game as it plays.
Fixed
Card text is back.
Play cards were showing up with missing text on their faces — you couldn't read what a play did without opening it. Fixed. Every card now shows its full read at a glance: the play's name, its role (Setup / Finisher / Aura / Reactive / Forged Line), a plain-language "what it does" line, and a **D ▸ O zone-flow** showing how it chains (tinted by who has the puck — green = you, red = the opponent, grey = loose).
New
The rink is alive.
The ice below the LINE STAGE now has skaters on it. They keep the play feeling live between the big moments, react when a shot goes off, and — when one of your built lines cashes in — **celebrate a goal** or **slump on a save** as the play returns to the rink. It's texture and feel, never a distraction: while a built line is taking center ice, the skaters go quiet so the LINE STAGE still owns the payoff.
Improved
Roomier, more readable draft.
The hand is now a two-row grid of cards, each carrying its full plain-language sentence, a role pill, and its chaining strip — so you can read your options without squinting. The opponent read collapses to a single tidy line (full scout still on demand).
Sound on the payoff.
The LINE STAGE moment now has audio — the crowd swells into a shot, erupts on a goal, groans on a save. (Rough placeholders for now; better sound is coming.)
What we'd love you to test
Do the cards read clearly now?
The plain-language line, the role, the zone-flow — is it obvious what a play does before you commit it?
How do the skaters feel?
Alive and fun, or distracting? Does your eye still go to the cards and the LINE STAGE where it should?
Anything still unclear in the draft or card layout.
Thanks for playing — and thanks for flagging the missing text. Keep the notes coming.
