We’ve just wrapped up our first week of Early Access, and already we’re seeing a massive outpouring of ideas & suggestions for the future of the game! Clearly, the community has big ideas about where the game should be heading, and we’ve been listening and taking notes.
In the spirit of transparency and collaboration, we’ve assembled a publically accessible Trello board that lists ideas for the future of the game based on what we’ve seen suggested by the community and that we’ve come up with internally. As we begin work on a feature, it will be moved over to the “In Progress” section. This will allow you to clearly follow along as we work through new content for the game.
Check it out here: https://trello.com/b/McOUEdRk/citadel-forged-with-fire-early-access-idea-board
Each tag has a “Vote” option, which you can use to express your interest in that particular feature:
(Please note that not every feature on this board is guaranteed to make it into the game, nor is there any guarantee that the most voted for items will be worked on next. We prioritize things based on a combination of community enthusiasm and available developer resources)
Below is a simple breakdown of some of the things on the board. Please feel free to let us know which ones really excite you (the best way being via the vote function), or share new ideas of your own. We’ll be listening and adding things periodically!
Idea Board Content
Bug Fixes & Performance Optimization - Improving optimization and fixing bugs will be an ongoing top priority for us during all phases of the Early Access process.
Mod Support/Custom Map Support - We’d like to allow players the freedom to create their own mods, maps and game modes, and enable them to share their creations via Steam Workshop.
World Bosses - Large, powerful end-game threats that can only be challenged by groups of players at extremely high levels.
World Events - Randomly occurring events in the game world, like dangerous enemies and valuable treasures spawning in broadcasted areas, that prompt player action.
Broomstick League - A competitive broomstick-based sporting diversion players can use to challenge each other in a fun, lighthearted way.
Dueling System - A system where two players could consensually agree to a friendly duel. Rather than fight to the death, they would fight until one person is reduced to a minimum amount of HP.
PVP Hotspots - Nodes, towers, arenas or any other system to create areas on the map that make PVP fighting more attractive.
Player Made Quests - A system whereby players could create their own quests for other players to complete.
Player/House Reputation System - A system to track players who engage in frequent PKing. At a certain point they may receive some kind of mark and increased visibility.
Improved Raiding Dynamic - We’d like to improve raiding by making structures vulnerable only to specific siege spells. These spells can only be cast with the possession of a difficult to acquire item.
Dynamic Weather System - The possibility of interesting weather conditions dynamically occurring in the game world, with potential implications on gameplay.
NPC Stores - NPC stores in the three starter towns where players can buy and sell gear they’ve crafted or looted.
Trading System - A centralized place in-game where players can list items and sell them to other players asynchronously.
Dye System - A system whereby players can dye their armor/clothing different colors for an added level of appearance customizability.
Creature Possession - The ability to use a spell to possess a tamed creature and directly control them for a short period of time.
Cooking - Use natural ingredients from the world to cook a variety of dishes. Cooked meals will provide time-limited buffs when consumed.
Underwater Overhaul - We’d love to add more creatures and points of interests to our underwater areas, and add items that allow full exploration of Ignus’ lakes and rivers.
Bows/Archer Magic - A class of bow-based weapons and spells.
Various Improvements - The ability to upgrade structure pieces, corpse markers for maps, visual effect upgrades, and much more.
More Content - More creatures, spells, armors, structure pieces, and weapons.
