This is a big Playtest update focused on giving you more ways to shape the horde, clearer battlefield information, and a much friendlier first shift.
Greenfield is now an interaction playground
Greenfield maps now contain ten kinds of mechanical rural landmarks:
- Duck ponds
- Irrigation ditches
- Blackberry brambles
- Compost pits
- Cattle paddocks
- Manure lagoons
- Pumpkin patches
- Apiaries
- Topiary mazes
- Orchard presses
These landmarks can slow, redirect, bunch, trap, launch, or otherwise interfere with zombies. Heavy enemies resist some effects, while used landmarks leave persistent aftermath instead of quietly resetting.
Farms, orchards, ditches, mud, toys, and other landmarks now follow terrain deformation. They survive or break in ways that reflect what happened on the battlefield.
New ways to redirect the horde
Allocorp Forced Distribution is a new baseline turret available in every fresh Career. Aim its industrial fan during placement to push light zombies toward alternate routes or environmental hazards. Heavy zombies barely move.
Allocorp Spin-Off is a new Career-gated displacement turret. It captures a bounded group of zombies, spins them clockwise, then dispatches them in the direction you selected during placement.
Better building and battlefield information
- Hold V, or pin the new HUD control, to inspect every turret's firing coverage together with the incoming route.
- The next-wave route remains visible throughout Urban Redevelopment, then fades cleanly when operations begin.
- Press Ctrl+Z within five active-play seconds to undo your latest turret placement for a full refund. The timer pauses during Tactical Pause.
- Open the new turret combat report to compare delivered damage, active-wave DPS, and kills by turret type.
- Damage numbers now appear in world space, scale naturally with camera distance, and emphasize meaningful hits. They can be disabled in Display settings.
Career and upgrade improvements
Every turret upgrade level now offers two clear, cumulative choices. You are no longer locked into a single branch at level one.
Career respecs are now free. Previously discovered nodes remain visible, and the tree reveals a little more of what lies ahead.
Site Control, HQ, Melee, and Walls now have dedicated Career branches. Career upgrades no longer lock out their former opposite choice.
Balance changes
- Every Boundaries wall tier now has twice as much structure health at the same price.
- Firm Handshake, Icebreaker, and Closer now have twice as much structure health and lower prices.
- Firm Handshake can now deliver its full primary hit to a zombie passing beside it.
- Several turrets received price, cadence, and combat-role adjustments.
- Artillery minimum ranges are now shown directly in turret stats.
A friendlier first shift
Brenda now teaches key controls inside the real battlefield using focused coach cards that pause the action.
The Settings menu can disable or reset contextual help without resetting the tutorial.
Wave warnings now use a warmer corporate-jingle family with clearer Routine, Elevated, and Crisis urgency.
Compact-screen turret tooltips no longer swallow clicks intended for the placement button beneath them.
