This build is about seeing where your network is straining, plus cabling upgrades and a few fixes.
New — network strain is now visible
- Saturated links tell you now. When a switch, gateway, or inline security appliance runs out of capacity and starts dropping traffic, it raises a proper incident and event instead of silently degrading in the background.
- "Uptime dropped — what's going on?" now has an answer. A customer's SLA breach is linked to the actual cause — the saturated link — so you're not left guessing.
- Network map: Load overlay. A new overlay colours every link by how busy it is, and any at-capacity link or device is highlighted at a glance even with the overlay off.
- Network tab: Busy links list. Your hottest links, ranked busiest-first, each with a one-line hint on how to relieve it.
- Security appliances behave like real hardware. Inline boxes (firewall, IPS, scrubber) now drop traffic when they physically can't keep up, and running deep inspection eats into how much they can forward — so a cheap or overloaded security box becomes a genuine bottleneck.
Networking & cabling
- Laying a cable never fails on distance anymore. If your chosen cable can't reach the run, it auto-upgrades to one that does (passive DAC → active DAC → AOC → fibre) instead of rejecting it.
- QSFP breakout (splitter) cables are now discoverable in-world. Run a cable from a QSFP port onto a smaller SFP port to break it out into a lane. Inspecting a QSFP trunk shows its lane budget and how many legs are attached, plus a prompt telling you the split is possible.
- Hold E on a QSFP breakout trunk to remove all of its legs at once.
- Full breakout trunks stop you up front. Trying to start another leg on a full trunk is now blocked immediately with a prompt to remove a leg first, instead of only failing when you go to connect. Works with both mouse and keyboard.
Fixes
- Service host list: the CPU and Memory columns now show real utilization instead of always reading 0%.
- Steam: removed a bogus "overlay not injected, Shift-Tab won't work" warning that fired on normal Steam launches even though the overlay was working.
- Privacy: player log files no longer include your Steam account name or ID.
