Patch Notes version 0.03.13
The playtest is now open to the public, meaning there are a whole lot more people that can find strange things in the game. This helps us very much, so by all means keep those issue reports coming!
No more overclimbing
If you held down the button to move up while walking past a ladder that was below you, Saga started to use the climb animation instead of the walk animation. The same could happen if holding down while walking under a ladder.
We have now taught Saga that she should ignore ladders unless they are in the correct direction.
Stand still in the elevator
The elevator inside the BnB allowed Saga to move while it was still between floors, meaning she sometimes could pass through doors and leave the BnB while you, the player, was still in the elevator.
With our new safety instructions, Saga should stand still while the elevator moves.
Please wait for effect
In various places around the game, it was found that you could break various things by interacting with them again and again too quickly. This included most doors and the Moving Platform Activators.
Saga has been given several notes about being more careful and taking it slow.
Easier Tutorial Progress
Many players reported that the larger Tutorial Screens, such as those used for the Building System, in themselves were difficult to understand how to control.
We have added the ability to click on the text boxes to progress the Tutorial, similar to how the Dialog System works. And clicking on the last box will close the tutorial instead of looping around to the beginning again.
A bunch of quick things
- Some sounds had not been connected to the volume controls
- The Options Menu is now much faster when it slides into view
- More menus can now be closed using ESC
- The Work Bench menu and the Building menu should now be aligned
- Removed the placeholder X prompt from the Cut Logs minigame
- The Room Re-Placer can now move the camera
Save File Compatible
This update should not affect anything that is in your Save Files, so feel free to keep going with your existing files!
End of Updates
This will be the last update before the end of the playtest! We will focus our efforts on analyzing all the Feedback we have collected, to see what parts of the game are liked and what parts may need a deeper rework. Please take the time to answer our Feedback Form - we need to know what you want to keep and what you want changed!
