Space Bots have arrived in Aéro: Speedrun Labyrinthe! 🤖🚀
This update introduces Version 1 of the new Space Bot enemy system. This is an initial prototype designed to test the new mechanic in real gameplay conditions. More nests, improvements and balancing changes will be added in future updates.
🤖 Space Bots — Version 1
Space Bots emerge from nests and will pursue Aéro to attack him.
As long as a nest remains active, Space Bots can continue to respawn. Destroying the robots alone isn't enough: you'll need to find and destroy their nest to stop them from respawning, then eliminate the remaining Space Bots.
For this first version, nests aren't particularly hidden yet. Eventually, they'll be placed in less obvious locations, meaning you'll have to figure out where the Space Bots are coming from before you can permanently stop them.
🔫 The bracelet can now fire!
The Gravity-Lock Bracelet now has a shooting ability:
Mouse: Left Click
Controller: R1 / Right Trigger
Projectiles can lock onto nearby Space Bots and their nests.
Every shot consumes some of the same temporal energy used by the time-slowing ability, so you'll now have to manage your energy between the bracelet's different abilities.
Energy refills can still be purchased from the Smuggler.
❤️ Health & Recovery System
Aéro now has a health bar, and Space Bot attacks can deal damage.
If your health reaches zero, Aéro will be recovered and teleported back to the latest safe point, currently the hangar before entering space, with his health restored.
🎬 Ending Cutscene Fix
An issue with the video player could cause the ending cutscene to freeze before reaching the end.
The player used for this cinematic has been corrected, and the ending cutscene should now play normally from beginning to end.
🧪 A First Prototype
The Space Bots are currently in Version 1, so you may encounter some unusual behavior or minor bugs.
This first implementation will help test the system in real gameplay before I add more nests throughout the game, hide them more carefully, and continue improving the Space Bots and combat mechanics in future updates.
I hope you'll enjoy the Space Bots and the extra bit of life — and danger — they bring to space! 🤖💜
