LIVORA 5.0 is here
LIVORA 5.0 expands two major parts of your character’s story: where they can build their life, and how learning can shape that life from childhood onwards.
You can now begin in different countries, move abroad later, deal with visas and residency, and experience places with their own climates, communities, opportunities and ways of living. At the same time, Education & Student Life now follows your character from their earliest years of learning through school, qualifications, university, apprenticeships, professional development and even returning to education decades later.
Both systems are deeply connected to the rest of LIVORA, so they become part of the same Life rather than separate activities happening in isolation.
Countries, Visas & Life Abroad
LIVORA’s world is now much larger, with five fictional countries and 36 playable locations, ranging from major cities and coastal communities to smaller towns and rural areas.
When beginning either Formative Years or Adult Life, you can choose the country and settlement where your character’s story begins. That starting place becomes part of their history and can continue to matter long after they leave it behind.
Countries and regions differ in more than appearance. Housing, employment, education, services, transport, local opportunities, weather and seasonal patterns can all vary depending on where you live.
And if you decide your Life should continue somewhere else, moving abroad is much more involved than simply choosing another destination.
You may need to find an immigration route that fits your circumstances, meet its requirements, prepare an application and wait for a decision. Relevant parts of your character’s history can affect the outcome, and applications can be refused when requirements are not met.
Moving with a family adds another layer. Partners and children can have their own permissions and circumstances, while housing, work, education, finances, vehicles, pets and the things you are leaving behind may all need to be considered before the move can happen.
Once you arrive, immigration does not simply disappear. Residency, renewals and longer-term status can continue to matter as your Life develops.
And moving abroad does not mean losing where you came from. Returning home remains part of the system, including situations where your family’s circumstances make that journey more complicated.
Your international history stays with your character too. Where they began, where they have lived and the places connected to their family can continue into memories, reports and future generations.
Education & Student Life
Education in LIVORA can now begin long before university.
During Formative Years, learning develops alongside your character. Early childhood focuses on curiosity, learning and emerging interests before school gradually becomes a much bigger part of everyday life.
As your character grows, teachers, school friends, subjects, activities, strengths, pressures and aspirations can all contribute to the person they are becoming.
Secondary school brings greater focus on qualifications and what might come next. By the later teenage years, your character can begin considering routes such as Sixth Form, College, vocational training, apprenticeships or entering employment.
Qualifications and circumstances can affect the opportunities available, but LIVORA does not decide your character’s future for them.
When Formative Years transitions into Adult Life, that history comes with you. Qualifications remain on your education record, important friendships can continue into adulthood, and earlier interests and decisions can provide context for what you choose to do next.
Learning as an adult
For characters who choose to continue learning, Education & Student Life becomes a major part of Adult Life.
You can browse courses and providers, compare different routes and choose something that fits your existing qualifications, finances, career, health, family commitments and available time.
Different forms of education have their own structure instead of every course following the same generic progress system.
A university degree can become one of the biggest chapters of your character’s Life. Academic years bring modules, assignments, exams and final-year work, while university itself introduces classmates, friendships, societies and campus life.
Your circumstances continue to matter while you study. You might commute from home, move into student accommodation, work alongside your degree, have a partner or children, or decide to return to university much later in life.
But university is only one route.
Open and distance learning offers greater flexibility through online sessions, tutors, study groups and coursework that needs to fit around the rest of your Life.
Evening and adult learning can sit alongside work and family responsibilities without pretending every learner has a traditional student lifestyle.
Short courses progress proportionately week by week, so a six-week programme does not suddenly behave like a three-year degree.
Apprenticeships combine genuine employment, formal training, workplace evidence and an end-point assessment.
And practical routes through areas such as trades, healthcare, teaching and childcare can place more emphasis on placements, supervisors, required hours and real-world experience.
The people you meet can stay with you
Education is not only about qualifications.
Teachers, classmates, tutors, lecturers, mentors, supervisors and study-group members can become part of your character’s Life.
Some connections may only last for the duration of a course. Others can become genuine friendships or relationships that continue years after education has ended.
Those people can become part of the memories surrounding an important period of your Life rather than disappearing the moment a progress bar reaches 100%.
Education connects to everything else
Your Life does not stop because you started studying.
Work can clash with classes or coursework. Travelling to a placement can take time and cost money. Family responsibilities can make a demanding week harder. Health, childcare, housing, transport and finances can all affect whether a particular course fits your current circumstances.
Employers may support further training, while qualifications can open new career paths or further-study opportunities.
But completing a qualification does not guarantee a promotion, a new job or a higher salary. What happens afterwards still depends on the rest of your Life.
The redesigned Education & Student Life hub brings everything together, helping you follow your current course, understand the week ahead, manage assessments, keep track of the people around you, see your finances and support, and consider what comes next.
Your completed education becomes permanent history. Qualifications stay on your record, important relationships can survive beyond the course, and major achievements can become lasting memories.
Over time, that record can tell the story of decades of learning — from childhood school years to later-life professional development.
Graduation becomes a Life event
For university students, completing the academic work is not always the final moment.
Once your final results are confirmed and your degree has been awarded, you may later receive a Graduation invitation.
You can choose whether to attend, decide who you want there, plan the journey and experience Graduation Day as a major Life moment with people who have been part of your story.
Attending Graduation is a celebration of what you achieved — it is never required to earn the qualification itself.
One Life, more possibilities
You might begin in a small town, grow up with the same group of school friends, leave for university, graduate, build a career and later move abroad with your family.
You might stay close to home, complete an apprenticeship, start a business and return to education years later.
Or a six-week evening course taken alongside your job could lead somewhere completely unexpected.
LIVORA 5.0 is designed to make those paths feel connected.
Countries, Visas & Life Abroad gives your Life a much bigger world to move through, while Education & Student Life gives learning a place throughout that Life — from your earliest years to wherever your story eventually leads.
Thank you for continuing to play LIVORA and for all of the feedback and ideas that continue to shape the game.
