IKANDY 1.6.6 brings a rebuilt logo instrument, better tempo tracking, Plexamp playback controls, and fixes for layered shows, recording, and Steam purchase verification.
Bring your name to life
Turn typed text or an uploaded logo into a moving part of your show.
- Eight looks: Flow, Spectral Tide, Resonance, Silk, Aurora Bloom, Live Scene Fill, Dimensional Extrude, and Smoke.
- Eight movement modes, including waves, breathing, orbiting, spinning, wind, and impact with shatter and reform. Suitable text also supports individual letter movement.
- Continuous Loop timing keeps animations flowing through their repeat. Musical phrase timing follows the music.
- Choose what drives the response: the full mix, bass, mids, treble, kick, snare, or air. Adjust Gain, Release, and Dynamics to shape the movement.
- Combine Spectrum, Contour, and Glow with your chosen look. God Rays can interact with the animated logo when supported by the current scene.
- Apply Live keeps your background playing. Saved logos remember their performance controls, and existing recipes remain available through Classic effects.
Find it under Create → Image Studio → Logo.
Better tempo and audio response
- Improved tempo detection for slow songs and corrected a case where songs around 100 BPM doubled after locking.
- New ½ and ×2 buttons let you correct a half-time or double-time reading and remember that choice for the song.
- Continuous DJ mixes, line-in, and virtual cables follow tempo changes more quickly, even without track information.
- Your Sensitivity setting now applies consistently after launching, switching sources, or reconnecting.
- F9 and Shift+F9 recordings keep the source audio at its own level. Changing visual Sensitivity no longer changes recording volume.
- After a song has been paused for 30 seconds, its Now Playing card and lyrics leave the show. The console keeps the paused track visible.
Plexamp controls
Connected Plexamp playback now works with IKANDY’s Previous, Next, Play/Pause, and supported Volume controls. No additional sign-in or API setup is needed.
Smart Auto can also follow supported players that do not publish track information. Switching to another music source now pauses Plexamp through its existing local connection.
Stage MIX fixes
- Saved and AI-created visuals now load correctly into Mix layers.
- MilkDrop can be used as the background.
- Supported combinations can pair a GLSL visual with a WebGPU world.
- Fixed automatic scene changes unexpectedly replacing an active Mix.
- Saved controls restore correctly for a second WebGPU visual, and leaving a Mix restores your previous Sensitivity.
Flash handling improvements
- Reduced flashing in Prism Cells during fast hi-hats.
- Reworked Hypnotise’s transitions to remove its rapid stepping strobe.
- Removed seventeen WarpField items that exceeded the flash limits during real-music testing.
- New MilkDrop imports receive a flash check. Flagged presets stay out of automatic rotation and require a warning before deliberate playback.
Keep the show moving between tracks
The new Built-in music option can drive the visuals while nothing is playing, without sending sound to your speakers. Choose Calm, Groove, Mid Tempo, or Extreme.
It is off by default and available under Settings → AUDIO. A new Sound in indicator shows whether IKANDY is hearing audio or using Built-in music. Optional corner branding is available for venue and store displays.
Steam purchase verification
Fixed an issue that could prevent Steam Pro and Studio purchases from completing verification and saving their offline entitlement.
Using a 4K or HDR display?
Open Settings → About for HDR output, HDR headroom, and Wide gamut output. HDR allows brighter highlights; wide gamut allows richer colors on compatible displays.
Enable HDR in Windows first when using HDR output. Visual Quality is under Settings → OUTPUT, alongside the recording dynamic-range options.
