Hello everyone! We are the small two-person development team behind Soul Cake.
Our debut multi-genre women-oriented indie game is now live on Steam.
A free playable demo is set to launch mid-month—don’t forget to add the game to your Wishlist!
Gameplay 1: Classic Visual Novel Experience
You step into the shoes of a dessert shop manager born with emotional numbness,
unable to sense other people’s feelings.
With your closest friend by your side, the two of you run an unassuming dessert parlor.
As you interact with a wide cast of customers and make pivotal choices, you may cross paths with someone who reshapes your entire life—and the fate of your shop.
Will you take control, or surrender yourself? Seek redemption, or slip into ruin? Stay true to your core self, or drift along with the tides?
Every single decision rests entirely in your hands.
Gameplay 2: Side-Scrolling Exploration & Collectibles
You possess a rare, hidden supernatural power: the ability to step inside other people’s inner worlds.
A diverse stream of patrons will wander into your shop, each carrying a unique life story that shapes a wholly distinct mental realm within their hearts.
Venture into their subconscious to gather emotional ingredients, then bring them back to reality to craft one-of-a-kind confections.
Beyond special baking materials, you’ll also uncover their deepest, guarded secrets.
Outside exploration segments, you can engage in optional conversations with every character you meet.
Gameplay 3: In-Game Chat Messenger
Once you’ve met a new customer, you can keep in touch via an in-universe mobile chat system.
Sending different emojis will trigger unique responses, and you can even unlock their private photo albums as your bond deepens.
You may continue sending messages to characters even after they log off.
Gameplay 4: Customizable Shop Decoration
Raise your affinity with characters to receive exclusive decorative furnishings, which you can place around your shop anytime you like.
Decorating your storefront and displaying desserts are completely optional mechanics—they will not alter the main plot or any of your game endings.
After careful deliberation, we chose to retain this customization feature, and the full release will add extra tiny details and hidden Easter eggs for players to discover.
Your Path: Take Initiative, or Let Fate Come to You?
This title features a rich multi-ending storyline. As the owner of a modest dessert shop, this little store could become your entire world—or merely a passing chapter of your life.
Every interaction and choice sparks subtle transformation, unlocking countless possibilities for your future.
