What's new in 0.18.3
This patch turns on benchmark-calibrated difficulty, teaches Mother Silk a blackout, and puts your active item's cooldown on the board.
Difficulty
- Calibrated difficulty is now on by default. Descent builds its enemies around your measured speed and strength from the two benchmarks.
- Enemies can no longer simply outrace you. Their attack output is capped at a fraction of your own measured pace, and the fraction grows with difficulty.
- The slow end is a real ladder now. At low benchmark results minions, elites, and bosses each keep their own speed instead of bunching at one floor.
- Co-op enemies are tougher to match two players: 50% more health and a bit more speed.
Mother Silk
- Her cast cycle now rolls 50/50 between Webwork and Silk Darkness, a six second blackout.
- Only a Webwork cycle escalates into the feast volley. A darkness cycle never feasts.
- While the brood shields her, her feast venom now heals her for everything it drains from you.
Items
- Descent boards now show your equipped active above the NEXT box: icon plus a cooldown ring. Both players get one in co-op.
- Your first acquired active auto-equips.
- Hyperspeed no longer appears in drafts or shops. Bosses and hazards still cast it.
Fixes and polish
- Darkness now dims the whole board backdrop, so blackouts feel dark.
- Tooltips and the glossary now open on controller focus, not just mouse hover.
- A won co-op Bounty wager now pays each player double their own stake.
- Shield cooldown rings now show in co-op.
- Fixed a co-op map lockup after resting at the Bonfire.
