Thank you to everyone who reported problems during launch week. This update fixes the most common reasons the game failed to start, plus a few extras.
STARTUP & COMPATIBILITY
- Fixed the game failing to launch on Windows N / KN editions (missing Media Foundation components).
- Fixed a startup crash on laptops and PCs using Intel integrated graphics.
- The game now runs on CPUs without AVX2 support (older processors).
- Fixed startup failures when the install path contains non-Latin characters (for example Cyrillic).
- During the initial load, the window no longer shows "Not Responding" — the loading screen stays visible instead.
- Startup errors now show a clear message (and write a log) instead of closing silently, so issues are much easier to diagnose.
FIXES & ADDITIONS
- The first-time tutorial now correctly appears for all players.
- Added a Controls reference to the Settings menu, in all 11 languages.
If you still hit a problem, please post on the Community Hub. The game now writes helpful diagnostic files (_startup_error.txt in the game folder and _boot_trace.txt in Documents\My Games\Macht\Saves) that make it far easier for us to help.
